AVIATION WEEK Cybersecurity Report Details Recent Cyber Attacks, Government Policies and Industry Best Practices
Articles and interactive website help A&D companies protect networks, ensure security, and pursue new business opportunities
NEW YORK, March 29 -- AVIATION WEEK today launched an in-depth cybersecurity report in print and online that reviews the global spread, growing scale and diversified nature of cyber attacks, as well as governments' and the aerospace & defense (A&D) industry's response to these threats. An analysis of the crucial issues, new regulations, best practices and business opportunities are provided in this week's double issue of Aviation Week & Space Technology and online at http://aviationweek.com/cyber, and will also be discussed at the A&D Cybersecurity Forum this week in Washington, D.C.
"President Barack Obama has made network protection for the military and defense contractors that provide military technologies a top priority," said Anthony L. Velocci, Jr., editor-in-chief of Aviation Week & Space Technology. "Cybersecurity must be integrated into how the A&D industry does business, and our special report in print and online, as well as discussions at the Forum, help identify the best ways to implement security measures that effectively address cyber threats."
Designed to arm companies with cost-effective strategies and insights, articles in the special report highlight what companies are currently doing to protect their networks such as cyber protection embedded into products, ways that cybersecurity presents new business opportunities, and challenges when hiring and training cyber experts. The online companion to the print issue provides additional insights, including a look at recent cyber attacks, reported victims and suspected perpetrators, and the agencies responsible for developing government policies and industry standards. Best practices are also included online and will be discussed at length by A&D executives, government agencies, and security experts during the Cybersecurity Forum in D.C. on March 31 and April 1.
