Novatel Wireless Launches Expedite E120 High-Speed Embedded Module
Advanced Mini Card Provides High Performance Data Mobility
SAN DIEGO, March 30 -- Novatel Wireless, Inc., (NASDAQ:NVTL) a leading provider of wireless broadband solutions, today introduced the Expedite®E120 Embedded Module, providing an innovative solution to integrate high-speed data connectivity into MIDs, E-Books and portable entertainment devices for 3G mobile data applications.
Building on the proven performance of the Expedite product line, the E120 enables data download rates of up to 3.1 Mbps. It further enhances service possibilities for target devices by providing GPS capability, allowing users to retrieve position data for navigation and location-based applications.
Powered by the Qualcomm® MDM6085 chipset, the E120 offers high performance data connections at either 800MHz or 1900MHz on CDMA EV-DO Rev. A and 1xRTT networks. The E120 is optimized for size, power efficiency and weight. Its thin contour occupies 23 percent less volume than a standard PCIe Mini Card, while providing significantly greater heat dissipation. Because it was designed to be thin, it is ideal for devices that must maintain a low profile. A rich set of APIs is available to developers through the software development kit.
"With a high efficiency compact design and integrated GPS, the E120 embedded module offers industry leading flexibility, convenience and reliability," said Rob Hadley, CMO, Novatel Wireless. "Novatel Wireless is dedicated to constantly evolving broadband data solutions to provide unrivaled mobility, speed and functionality for our customers."
