Swisscom Launches Innovative Video and TV Services Based on Mobixell's Converged Rich Media Delivery Platform
Mobixell Videon(TM) Enables Swisscom to Deliver High Quality User Experience to Smartphones, Laptops and PC's Across DSL Wi-Fi and Mobile Networks
SAN JOSE, California, April 7, 2010-- Mobixell Networks, a leading provider of Rich Media Mobile
Internet and Broadband solutions, today announced that Swisscom, a major
telecommunications provider in Switzerland, has deployed Mobixell's converged
rich media delivery solution to bring video and live TV to personal computers
and smartphones. Mobixell allows Swisscom to offer and manage over 50 live TV
channels that can be watched in HD quality via PCs, laptops, Apple iPhone(R)
and other mobile devices, as well as across multiple networks such as DSL,
Wi-Fi, hotspots or HSPA/UMTS/Edge.
By bringing the television experience onto computers, iPhones and other
mobile devices, Swisscom is creating an additional opportunity to engage with
subscribers and build a platform for generating more revenue streams and
increasing average revenue per user. The service, launched in March of this

enables Swisscom's users to access "Swisscom TV Air" to receive television
programmes or live sport events on computers and Internet-capable mobile
phones. With circa 500 films and documentaries, the new service allows
Swisscom customers to turn their computer into a cinema. To support these
services, Mobixell's Videon(TM) enables high quality, manageable video
delivery across all access networks using the most advanced streaming
protocols - Microsoft's Silverlight(R) Smooth Streaming, Apple's HTTP live
streaming, Adobe RTMP and 3GPP streaming in a centralized delivery platform.
