Telecom Transport Management to Build Capacity for Now--and Later
Tellabs(R) 7100 Optical Transport System adds capacity and efficiency now while preparing for 4G
NAPERVILLE, Ill., April 22 -- Telecom Transport Management, Inc (TTM), a leading provider of backhaul to the nation's top wireless carriers, has been preparing itself for the spiking bandwidth demands of 3G and 4G for more than a year. Its technology roadmap called for an optical platform that could handle unprecedented backhaul volumes and the wireless carriers' migration from TDM to Ethernet. TTM has selected the Tellabs® 7100 Optical Transport System to handle this task in some of its key markets.
"We have chosen the Tellabs 7100 system to provide the highest level of reliability and scalability in our backhaul network," said Lynn Refer, TTM's CEO. "Our goal is to leverage this platform to provide our customers the best solution at the fastest speeds and the most competitive economics."
The Tellabs 7100 system is a versatile transport system that combines the most advanced dynamic optical networking and services layer technologies. It offers an integrated transport and multiservice delivery solution on a single platform.
"Adding the Tellabs 7100 system will ensure TTM's customers are prepared for a rapid increase in mobile data use," said Chuck Bernstein, vice president, North American sales, at Tellabs. "Because customers can migrate from TDM to Ethernet in an efficient and effective way, they'll save costs both now and in the future."
