Lauterbach To Provide Best-In-Class Debugging Tools and Support for Timesys Embedded Linux
Debugging Timesys Linux kernel and applications, tracing and code optimizations made easy
PITTSBURGH, April 22 -- Timesys® Corporation (http://www.timesys.com/), provider of award-winning embedded Linux solutions and support, and Lauterbach, leader in hardware-assisted microprocessor debugging and development tools, today announced a strategic partnership that enables software developers and system architects to easily and quickly develop embedded Linux products.
The partnership will provide Lauterbach JTAG assisted debugging for all Timesys LinuxLink supported ARM, MIPS, Power, SH and IA32 processor architectures, including support for multi-core systems.
Timesys' LinuxLink offering combines a high-productivity software development framework and world-class support for embedded Linux applications. LinuxLink includes the Linux kernel, cross-tool chain, application development IDE, an award-winning build system called Factory, a vast library of middleware packages, software stacks and libraries, and documentation. The framework includes expert technical support from Timesys to help developers easily navigate challenges associated with open source solutions.
Lauterbach's TRACE32® JTAG Debugger and tools are part of the company's modular development systems, enabling engineers to debug System on Chip (SoC) code during development and manufacturing.
"We are delighted to partner with Lauterbach, a leader in the field of JTAG assisted debugging," said Atul Bansal, Timesys CEO. "This partnership will help our customers bring embedded products to market faster using Lauterbach's JTAG for quick and easy debugging of all aspects of a Linux based product."
"Both Timesys and Lauterbach are committed to helping our customers build embedded Linux products with greater reliability, flexibility and speed," said Stephan Lauterbach, CEO at Lauterbach. "Timesys's extensive experience and knowledge of embedded Linux development and world-class support solution minimize the risk and uncertainty associated with Linux projects. We look forward to serving our common customer base together."
LinuxLink customers can find appropriate, processor-specific configuration files for the Lauterbach tools directly in LinuxLink -- along with additional information and whitepapers that guide in the setup and operation of the TRACE32 JTAG and Timesys provided development environment.
