IRVINE, Calif., April 26 -- LoanMarket.net, the innovative mortgage firm that invented and launched an entirely new online, note-trading platform and helped further redefine a secondary market and create a liquid investment class, not only has spawned copycats, but also has lured major Wall Street players into its game, according to Jeff Freud, founder and president.

"Two years ago, there was no space...18 months ago, when we were building the site, there was no access to this market for most experienced investors who saw the opportunities in discounted real estate secured debt," Freud said. "The fact that the most viable companies in the country are now calling us a space is just overwhelming."

During a time when most market analysts saw mostly chaos, LoanMarket.net saw opportunity, according to Freud. "The biggest objection in coming to market was that it wasn't a space, wasn't viable, wasn't needed. Trades were being made between the same counterparties at very large wholesale levels. There was no way for most non-institutional investors to play in the sandbox. Now, everyday, I hear about a new competitor rolling out an online exchange...or looking to make large investments into the space," Freud said.

With a 200% increase of loans sold in the first quarter of 2010, over Q-4 of 2009, and a 400% spike of average, daily unique visitors to the site during the same period, LoanMarket.net is continuing its industry lead in bringing liquidity and pricing transparency to private investors," Freud said. In addition, in April, 2010, alone, "first time buyers have accounted for over 25% of our closed loans."

According to Freud, LoanMarket.net eliminates the normal transaction frustrations and allows private equity funds or individual buyers to come to the site and make real-time decisions that benefit everybody.
