The patent, which is titled, Long Mission Tethered Aerostat and Method of Accomplishing greatly enhances StratoComm Corporation's capabilities in the global market for fixed wireless telecommunications services. It enables the continuous replenishment of the lifting gas while also maintaining critical pressure and lift of StratoComm's tethered Transitional Telecommunications System. This capability distinguishes StratoComm's service offering as superior to that of its competitors.
"This patent is a key ingredient in enabling delivery of reliable and high quality services from StratoComm's Transitional Telecommunications System. Utilization of an aerostat as a telecommunications platform has been challenged by low service availability resulting from the need to bring the aerostat out of service to replenish lost helium," stated Dr. Lee. "This patent dramatically increases the overall service availability of StratoComm's Transitional Telecommunications System," Dr. Lee concluded.
Mr. Roger D. Shearer, StratoComm Corporation, CEO adds, "The value of this patent to StratoComm may extend beyond the point in time that the company commences delivery of telecommunications services from its stratospheric fleet. It is anticipated that potential licensing or sale of its use to various non-competitive interests globally could create a separate and potentially substantial revenue stream for the company."
StratoComm Corporation is a developer and provider of telecommunications infrastructure technologies with a specific focus to the delivery of ubiquitous and cost sensitive communication services to the developing world. The company is further committed to the allocation of a portion of each system's service capacity for the provision of low cost/no cost social and economic outreach programs.
