Tripping.com Launches International Hospitality Network at TechCrunch Disrupt

San Francisco Start-Up Connects Travelers with Locals

NEW YORK, May 25 -- Tripping, a social site for travelers, announced their launch today at leading industry event TechCrunch Disrupt in New York City. Based in San Francisco, Tripping is a hospitality network where travelers can connect with locals for tips, shared cups of coffee and even home stays.

TechCrunch invited Tripping to participate in Start-Up Alley at Disrupt 2010, the conference that gathers young web companies recognized for disrupting media and technology. By enabling travelers to step off the beaten tourist track and into local culture, Tripping is disrupting how people travel and experience the world.

"At Tripping, we believe the true beauty of the Internet lies in its ability to connect people on a global scale, weakening prejudice and encouraging understanding beyond borders" said Jen O'Neal, Co-Founder and CEO of Tripping. "Without a doubt, cultural exchange makes the world a better place and we're focused on building the best and safest hospitality network in existence."

While living abroad over the past few years, O'Neal hosted over 150 travelers and recognized that there was a need for a safer, more technologically advanced network. With cutting edge travel tools and safety features including a sos@tripping emergency hotline, Tripping has created a free social network that provides the world with access to a safe and stable hospitality exchange.

"We're especially excited to be launching at TechCrunch Disrupt," said CTO and Co-Founder Nate Weisiger. "Some of the world's best and brightest entrepreneurs and investors are here and Tripping is pleased to be at the same table."
