DALLAS, June 2 -- Blockbuster Inc. (NYSE:BBI)(NYSE: BBI.B) announced that BLOCKBUSTER On Demand® is now available through the latest Toshiba Blu-ray players, making it easier for even more families across America to enjoy the hottest new releases from Blockbuster in their living room.
BLOCKBUSTER On Demand is currently accessible on Toshiba's new Blu-ray models, the BDX2500 and the BDX2700, which offers built-in WiFi capability. Plans are also in place for the service to become available on future Toshiba Blu-ray players, expected to be released later this year.
"BLOCKBUSTER On Demand, through Toshiba's Blu-ray players, delivers a truly connected home theater experience," said Bruce Anderson, Blockbuster On Demand's Senior Vice President and General Manager. "It gives even more of our customers instant access to all the newest hit releases, available the same day as DVD/Blu-ray, as well as thousands of other great movies."
Both Toshiba Blu-ray models come equipped with internet connectivity, allowing for movies from Blockbuster to be streamed anywhere, anytime. The players also deliver 1080p Full HD video and high-definition audio as well as BD-Live(TM) capability.
BLOCKBUSTER On Demand customers enjoy movies directly on their TV set with no monthly fee. This allows for a more personalized and easy access to in-home entertainment.
