Motorola Competitive Replacement Promotion Lowers Cost of Upgrading to Latest 802.11n Wireless LAN Solutions
Customers benefit from direct rebates and cost-free recycling of legacy wireless infrastructure; other promotions include mesh, point-to-multipoint and point-to-point solutions
SCHAUMBURG, Ill., June 3 -- The Enterprise Mobility Solutions business of Motorola, Inc. (NYSE:MOT) today announced the "Recycle Your Way to Better Bandwidth" replacement promotion targeted at enterprise and government customers seeking to upgrade their existing wireless LAN (WLAN) infrastructure by replacing legacy enterprise networking equipment from any enterprise WLAN vendor, including Motorola or Symbol, with the latest 802.11n solutions from Motorola. The promotion is available in North America until September 30, 2010 through members of the Motorola PartnerEmpower(TM) channel program. It provides direct cash rebates to customers on Motorola 802.11n WLAN access points and switches as well as mesh wide area network (MWAN), point-to-multipoint (PMP) and point-to-point (PTP) solutions. Customers also benefit from cost-free recycling of their legacy infrastructure.
"Motorola recognizes that many enterprise and government customers want to upgrade their wireless networks to support the rapid demand for bandwidth-intensive wireless applications and services but are hesitant about making the necessary capital investment in the current economic climate," said Sujai Hajela, vice president and general manager for Wireless Network Solutions, Motorola Enterprise Mobility Solutions. "Motorola's broad portfolio of field-proven wireless network solutions provides the capacity and performance required by current and future mobile applications. By taking advantage of the promotions, more customers will be able to enjoy the benefits of the latest wireless technologies while knowing that their old equipment was recycled with the environment in mind."
The WLAN competitive replacement promotion offers customers direct discounts off list price on Motorola 802.11n access points and switches purchased to manage them. To be eligible for the promotion, customers are required to send in an equal number or more of their legacy enterprise WLAN devices to a designated recycling center for disposition and submit a single invoice issued by a member of Motorola's PartnerEmpower channel program to the customer. Equipment rebates will be provided by Motorola directly to the customer upon verification. The promotion includes Motorola's latest 802.11n access points, the tri-radio adaptive AP-7131 and the dual-radio AP-650, as well as the complete line of its award-winning wireless switches - RFS4000 802.11n Integrated Services Controller, RFS6000 and RFS7000.
Optimized to provide high quality of service (QoS), low latency and exceptional coverage for voice and video applications, Motorola's 802.11n solutions ensure seamless delivery of live video streams and multimedia content from cable TV, video cameras and the Internet. In addition, Motorola's 802.11n WLAN portfolio offers customers built-in, industry-leading Motorola AirDefense wireless security capabilities, which provide IT administrators with 24/7 monitoring and comprehensive security features for rogue wireless detection and containment. Customers can also leverage the recently introduced AirDefense Infrastructure Management solution, a powerful WLAN management tool designed to help IT departments gain better visibility into their heterogeneous networks and reduce operational costs associated with managing fast-changing, growingly complex and increasingly pervasive wireless networks.
Motorola is currently also offering competitive replacement promotions on its latest MWAN, PMP and PTP solutions, giving customers the opportunity to leverage a broad range of wireless broadband technologies from a trusted partner with 80 years of wireless expertise and more than 10,000 existing, field-proven deployments across all corners of the globe. Customers looking to leverage mesh solutions for wide area coverage or deploy wireless municipal services networks can accelerate their return on investment by trading in legacy infrastructure and receiving direct cash rebates. Service providers and organizations with multi-site connectivity needs can take advantage of the promotion on Motorola's industry-leading PMP solutions and trade in older links to grow capacity or extend coverage over greater distances. And, customers seeking to grow capacity and throughput with robust links for backhaul or T1 replacement can now get significant rebates when replacing their current solutions with Motorola's PTP portfolio. The promotions are available in North America until August 31, 2010 through members of the Motorola PartnerEmpower channel program.
"Motorola is committed to helping make the latest wireless networking technologies accessible to more organizations," said Gregg Kalman, MSSI vice president of North American WNS Channels, Motorola Enterprise Mobility Solutions. "By lowering the capital expense required to deploy the latest technologies, Motorola is helping more businesses upgrade their wireless infrastructure to take advantage of the rapidly growing number of business-critical mobile applications and services."
