ViXS announces XCode(R) 4210 Android(TM) Software Development Kit
TORONTO, June 1 -- ViXS Systems Inc., a leading provider of smart network multimedia processor solutions that enable a rich video entertainment experience, announced today that it is launching a ViXS Android(TM) Software Development Kit (SDK) for ViXS' XCode(R) 4210, which will enable consumer electronics manufacturers to more easily develop Android(TM)-based multimedia products. Android(TM) is Google's open source operating system that has been developed for a variety of media-rich devices.
Televisions and set-top boxes leveraging the Android(TM) platform are among the new devices that allow consumers to view and experience digital media content in new and different ways. By providing an Android(TM) SDK with HD multimedia processing such as transcoding and transcryption, ViXS is fostering an environment where consumers will have more choice in how they consume digital media content from multiple sources.
"Android(TM) support enables our customers to provide a suite of applications to the consumers using the hardware features of the XCode(R) 4210 in combination with the flexibility of this operating system," said Sally Daub, President and CEO of ViXS Systems.
