Belkin's product lines have been around the consumer market since we can remember. When they acquired the consumer brand, Linksys, it strengthen that consumer focus. Branding the Wemo line of products in the Linksys name, Belkin is pushing hard into the smart home market. It makes sense since they basically integrate some processing power with wireless technology. Google home and Alexa are supported, which is key for any smart home product. More smart home products are coming out from different companies. While Zwave and ZigBee set the standard for hub based smart home products, the consumer level products that use WiFi directly are easy to setup and use, albeit with a few negatives like the ability to control everything from a unified interface across companies.
