There will be a planned downtime for not too long on every site in the ASE Content Network (Adnet isn't included in that). The only site that will not be affected is ASEville since there is no Version 4 for that site just yet.

I plan on shutting down the sites in about 10 minutes. The upgrade shouldn't take too long.

ASE sites were down due to a huge datacenter problem at ThePlanet were ASE gets its servers from. A power transformer blew up and caused massive damage. Thankfully, the servers were isolated and they were fine. The problem was (as they say) that the fire department wouldn't let them turn on the backup generators or anything so people like me were stuck for a day and a half without servers.

Things like this wouldn't be that big of an issue if ThePlanet had good communication. I didn't know that it was a datacenter problem until 2.5 hours after my server was down. Then during the fiasco, ThePlanet lacked proper timetables. I'm very unhappy with ThePlanet over how they handled this.

I would like to mention to everyone that owns a website that ASE Adnet is ready for additional publishers to join the network. Join now.

ASE Adnet is far different than other networks. Adnet gives you the power over how your ads look and more. Why be stuck with other networks that don't pay you on time or don't pay you enough for your clicks you send. Adnet pays very well, higher than competing networks in most categories.

The first day of CES was fun and tiring. I'm happy to be able to get online with no problem using my Verizon EVDO enabled phone.

Day one coverage will be up either tonight or tomorrow morning.

The server updates that needed a reboot are now complete. Let me know if anything doesn't work correctly.

And PHP 4 was reinstalled on it. Luckily, I remembered how to install PHP 5 again quickly...

I'm going to look into getting another server soon anyway and probably use no control panel. Please let me know if there is any problems.

Someone has been attacking my server using a site called "Gigaloader" which is something to stress test a server. It is also an easy way to do a DoS attack on a server as well.

My network traffic is being slammed right now.
