I was a sent a .pub file and I can't find a way to convert it that doesn't involve some border-line sketchy website. I have a Mac. tried converting it on Google Drive, tried opening it in different Microsoft Office applications and no dice. Any tips?
I had to install Service Pack 2, then the UAA HD driver, and then the Realtek driver - talk about a lot of work just got get sound. It did reboot when it was playing music yesterday though.
Also, if you want to pin an item to the start menu, right click on it and select "Pin to Start Menu", then it will always show up in the start menu. I prefer it that way instead of showing my latest programs that I've used.
I've got the perfect solution to my woes! On the 21st, I get almost $1400 from a RRSP (not worried about the taxes because I don't make that much working part-time, so I will just get a smaller refund this year) and I'm planning on using part of the cash to pay off two bills. The rest I'm planning on using to buy a 26" TV, new speakers, and a router from Staples Office Depot. I should still have enough left over from buying those to take myself out to eat at least twice. Oh happy day!
By the time you have made it to this site, you have probably heard a wide range of reasons to pick LED grow lights over HID grow lights - some of it is true, some of it is hype, I am sure. The best thing to do is take both sides of the argument and split the difference. Take some time to research the results from independent testing (especially when comparing the offerings of different LED grow light manufacturers).
If you choose from among the best LED Grow Lights on the market, you can look forward to the following benefits:
Energy Savings - The first thing that you see when looking at LED grow lights is claims of efficiency. While some claims are overstated, you can expect to see a 40% to 75% decrease in electricity costs when you switch from HPS or MH grow lights
Just downloaded and installed DirectX. Now we get beyond my limited understanding - it appear that DirectX is no longer the default (what? language? program? plugin?) for any video-related operations. Many of my games and screens look (subtly) different and run much more slowly. is it possible to set DirectX as the default for everything video-related?
Both FF 4.0 and IE9 were not showing anything - had to disable hardware acceleration to get them to work properly. VLC was fixed by resetting output module to DirectX, the default (how I changed that I have no idea).
Right now the only thing that does not work properly is Windows Media Center - will play videos in full screen only. Any minimization results in black screen.
OG! What a nitwit I am. I mean i did think of that but was afraid I would break it if that is not what to do...thanks for confirming!!! thank you so much!!
This forum HAD a thread that discussed Linux install for the G110 Keyboard...

I just want to share my experience about why computers are such a pain to diagnose. I've been trying to build a computer for use at my parents house while I'm over visiting so I had a Core 2 Duo E6420 and an Asus P5N-T Deluxe with 4GB of Kingston HyperX Ram sitting doing nothing. I scrounged a 80GB SATA drive and a PATA DVD drive for use since it is just for random stuff. The optical drive works fine on other systems. I just bought a new power supply which doesn't have the 8-pin EPS connector, but has enough juice on the 4-pin 12v anyway and I don't plan on overclocking.
The damn system wouldn't complete booting. Sometimes it would hang at the ATA initialization, sometimes at USB, sometimes at Firewire, and then it would start to have kernel panics about ACPI and APIC. Linux was complaining that the CPU weren't being synced correctly.
I started pulling everything I could to check and thought it was the power supply. After a couple of hours, I remembered I had a 8x DVDRW drive from Liteon for review that used USB. Unplugging the PATA optical drive and using the USB... NO ERRORS! It is now working totally fine and I left the optical drive off for the time being.
This is why computers are such a pain when there are problems. You wouldn't think that it was the optical drive causing problems... but there you go. I got the hint from the one ATA hang, but it was a one off thing. Even so, the system is humming fine now.
F2 is correct now I am trying the impossible of tracking down the mobo via S?N; if anyone knows of a way to do this on a Dell proprietary mobo please let me know.
You learn something when you do web programming... never trust the client... EVER. Javascript is all well and good to handle certain ease of use (on the client), but all true functionality comes from the backend.
Regardless of how much validation you put into Javascript, you always do server side checks.
I still don't know why he wants you to use try/catch for this. I mean, exceptions are nice for stuff, but not this.
I'll give you an example of when to use exceptions. In a strong typed language (C++), you can use exceptions to give status of a function even if the function returns an integer. You could throw exceptions for improper inputs and other such stuff. That's when you do try{function();}catch(e){echo "ERROR!".e->errorText;} (Pseudo code).
The fact that you left it in a cold room without problems make it seem that's the case. Have you ever cleaned out the case with compressed air? See if the fans/intakes are clogged and go from there.
ok so i had a look in the kernel log and there is some stuff to do with it going on standby but i don't understand any of it really so i don't know whether you could have a look at it?
Gotcha on the lame part. They have told me in the past that they don't do any blocking; I guess this isn't the case? They didn't look at the ARIN list, I don't think... If they had looked at ARIN, they'd see that it is a legitimate website, and not a bogon. Besides, how could they mistake it for a bogon? What bogon list are they using? One from 1990??
Hey guys sorry for the wait, i did it all as suggested and it worked without a hitch i think the fact the old motherboard drivers were of the 780 sort helped, just going though reactivating windows but i reccommend this method and will probs use it for future upgrades. Thanks alot for the advice!
If you went beyond the activation time and it is forcing you to activate the computer without giving you a chance to install anything, yes. Phone activation is an option.
