Like Spider-Man, it is one of the best movies I have seen.
M.A.S.H. was spectacular, in part, because it did come in on the tails of the factual war the show's fictional setting was supposed to precede...but, there was more to it.
The characters were, in fact a good mix overall. Of course, this is where the scotch point gets brought up. It got better the longer it went.
I liked Larry Linville, and I'm sure it was a blast to work with him, but as far as replacements go, I preferred Stiers overall. Mostly because of the differences in the characters. Frank was funny mostly because he was such a loser (and his play with Loretta Swit) and he made us laugh with that idiocy. Stiers created a whole different dynamic with the group. He was something Hawkeye and B.J. could play with -- because he would play back in his own way. Frank could never do that. He would just come back with some stupid comment in which he would mix his metaphors and Hawkeye and Trapper (or B.J.) would laugh at him.
mash dvds, of course, brings us to the changeover from Wayne Rogers to Mike Farrell. It, admittedly, wasn't a very smooth transition and was rather obvious but...Trapper and Hawkeye were too much alike (in my opinion) so there really wasn't a straight man, per se. B.J. provided a kind of balance that Trapper never could. Of course, B.J. had his own kind of fun, but in a much more subtle (and in my opinion, fun) way. Whenever Hawk would play a prank, you would *know* it was him. Whenever B.J. would prank it would start out as Hawkeye's fault, but then he would get pranked and suddenly everything was thrown out of whack. Which made life fun.
From Thread: Song writing! Sat Nov 7, 2009 3:28:27 AM
Ok look i love music more then tv but this thread is for thoes who like to write there own songs if you want some one to say some thing about the songs you write then ask them but if not then write. So Have fun.
LOL actually the beatles created the persona of sgt. peppers lonely hearts club band so, techniquly they created a new band and gave themselves new names (Although ringos is the only one revealed) and made new songs for the album that took almost a whole year (thats unusual for john and paul becouse usually they write most of there songs in an hour or two)
When Batman Animated Series DVD came around, it didn't take people long to see that it was something different. Here was a "cartoon" that was written for adults. It could be viewed by older kids, but it had great depths for the adults who took any time with it. Each episode (or couple of episodes) acts as its own mini-movie. The structuring of the story in each one is just so well executed. As well, the animation (for its time) was quite good, and still holds up well enough today. Another difference from other animation, is that the color palette is quite dark- which, again, only makes it more interesting. All of the great villains are here (and others you may not have heard of), but they get a very serious and, at times, philosophical explication. One of my favorite things about the series, is that every episode has its own orchestral score- meaning, the music that you hear is tailored to fit the exact moment you are watching. Shirley Walker manages to come up with so many sub-themes and variations on the main theme- and works them in so well with the happenings on screen. For those of you that have seen the series and remember it fondly, you might be interested to know that a box-set of the first 28 episodes was recently released- you can get it just about anywhere.
For years Weeds is being the "evrybody-talks-about-series" but I never had the opportunity to watch Weeds dvd box set. But for the last 2 weeks, Weeds is all I'm thinking about, watching desperately all episodes, and finally I could understand why it got so much attention for the last 4 years.
First of all, the cast is amazing. Mary-Luise Parker, as Nancy Botwin, fits so well in her character and she is so charismatic and so beautiful and so subtle, gentle, comprehensive and polite that it's almost impossible not like her. Elizabeth Perkins as Celia Hodes, my god, that woman rocks! She's so naturally dried by the unhappy life she has built that even a spontaneous smile seems like a rock. I can't believe that Elizabeth Perkins never won an award for this character until now because every moment is an outstanding performance. Kevin Nealon as Doug Wilson, always high - but also very smart - for sure gives the best laughing moments. I also like Batman Animated Series DVD .
But the most interesting thing about the show is not the drugs, it's not Nancy living a hell each new day and not even the mistakes each character does during the episodes, but the social matters that it points. I'm Brazilian and I live in a small suburban city like the imaginary Agrestic/Magestic, so... I know a lot how is to survive in a place where you're surrounded by ignorant people that are moved just by an inexistent appearance. It's so revolting to a point that sometimes you just want to do things just to provoke people and play with their abstraction of reality, and the series shows it in a very intelligent and interesting way so you feel connected by it in a way or another.
I see i think as soon as i can i'm going to do art a lot more i just don't have the time to do any art & i don't have time to play video games or any thing like that because of my so called dad i hate him soooooo much it's not even funny but any ways i'm thinking of geting rid of all my anime things. What do you guys think should i get rid of my anime or keep it?
COSCO it has EEEVVVRRRYYYTTTHHHIIINNNGGG (I added alot of the numbers more then once so you know it realy does have evrything) it has Items that range from banjos to Kazooies, from baby formula to coffins, from Unicorns to Unicorns (they only have one creature in the mythical creature section at the cosco I go to, but I heard there is a frog in the mythical creature section of the one in arizona A FRECKIN' FROG, MAN)
I've been thinking about picking one of these up for the PS3 so I don't have to keep using the DS3 to do things. Nice to know that they are pretty well done.
