From Thread: GTA Blamed For More Killings Old Fri Oct 6, 2006 6:28:57 AM

Said By ArtemisPanthar

the game has a giant M on the cover and explains it's only for people 17 and up. I don't see how a 14 year old could get it himself and if his parents got it for him, it's their own damn fault for not parenting and deciding if it was such a good game for their child to be playing.

There are laws against restricting purchases of video games like that. It is against free speech. I agree with the second. The parents should be the sole people that decide if playing that type of game is good...

I also agree with your other points. This kid also got raped. I guess that doesn't count for anything.

From Thread: Virus memory Old Thu Oct 5, 2006 5:38:44 AM
http://www.newscientisttech.com/article/dn10228-happy-snaps-from-a-virusinfested-chip.html

Quote

A camera fitted with a virus chip would take a few microseconds to display an image, compared with the milliseconds taken by existing devices, says Yang Yang of the University of California, Los Angeles, whose team is working on the virus chip. The team built a transistor by embedding the coated virus strips in a polymer matrix, sandwiched between two electrodes much like a standard transistor. Apply a voltage to the transistor, and the platinum nanoparticles - roughly 16 per virus - each donate an electron to proteins on the surface of the virus, moving the device to an ON state.

Game 2, Rained out. Game time is 1 PM today (10/5/06). Sadly, I have class until two, and im 45 minutes away from home. I have to listen to them on the radio.

As for the Met's, they will beat the Dodgers, watched last nights game, and everytime the Dodgers scored, they countered and took the lead.
GO YANKS!

*Note, Rangers home opener tonight. WOOO

From Thread: BREAKING NEWS: Fat People Like Food Old Thu Oct 5, 2006 4:42:09 AM
6'6" is pretty damn tall XD But then, that's considering my meager height of 5'5". I used to be 5'6" but I'm shrinking =(

I suppose it largely has to do with want and self-control. I'm overweight but I honestly couldn't give a damn and would rather prefer not to lose the few pounds that make me so. Most people seem to care what others think about them, rather than personally wanting to lose weight which is where I think some of the problems lie. If you don't want it, it's less of an issue for you and you get the people that struggle with quick-fixes and horrible diets because they aren't motivated enough to do the work that's inevitably involved in losing weight.

But, I'm a big believer in letting people do what they want. It's their life, afterall, and we've only got a few years to live it, so what the hell?

From Thread: Sony's stock slides on PS3 screwup Old Wed Oct 4, 2006 7:34:20 PM
As much as I'm not thrilled Sony's PS1 overheated a lot, and the PS2 rarely plays blue bottomed discs, and even though Sony decided to alienate the casual gamer by charging $500 and up, I do hope they meet with moderate success with the PS3, even though I'm probably going with the 360 this time...
