From Thread: Do you like to spank your keyboard and mouse? Old Fri Jan 13, 2006 9:35:03 PM

Said By Aron Schatz

http://www.aseville.com/userarticles.php?id=18

There is an UArt review about this keyboard at ASEville.

Very nice review. I know of one game that is in development where one of the developers is doing some programming to make it work with the keyboard on the side. Also did not know about the 2 usb ports. That would be nice for my setup. I have been pretty anxious to get one of these, but that review just stepped it up another notch.

I agree that the basic keyboard gets the job done, but the display will be useful to me for some things, and the macro keys are simply too good to be true.

This music video manages to cover all that is repungnent and inappropriate.

It totally grossed me out. Has anyone else seen it? The Juicy Juice music video by the Strokes?

Maybe I'll put up a link later so you can all be disgusted with me.

Which game in the Castlevania series do you think is the best?
Mine would be Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (PS1), followed by Castlevania 3 (NES).

Anyone play Resident Evil 4?
I think it is the best one yet, even though it represents a "new direction" for the series. It's pretty hard though, I've died pretty many times (70+) so far. I like how they implemented the shop/upgrade system so you can pick and choose what to upgrade.

I think the best one was probably MGS2, 3 was also good but the food aspect was annoying and didn't really add to the gameplay.

From Thread: Quake IV has gone gold Old Wed Jan 11, 2006 9:34:15 PM
Well, it worked, but it was a MAJOR flaw in the logic of the story. The whole feel of quake 4 makes it seem like it takes place 50 years from now, and the inhabitants are regular ol' human beings. Doom 3 felt a little more removed, which is appropriate since it takes place on mars (or is it phobos? It was phobos in the original game...).

The only scripted thing in doom 3 which really wrecked it for me was the ammo/armor pickup being linked to spawns. Oive.

I'm really liking the stroggification effects thing in the latter part of the game. Oh lord, I can't wait for the mods!

Panicware's pop-up stopper is the best by far. Before that I used something called Pop Up Manager, but it didn't stop the most annoying popups, and especially the pop-unders.

YEah, panicware is all you need

From Thread: Programs to help you organize Old Wed Jan 11, 2006 3:34:34 PM
What programs do you use to help you organize stuff. Not the same as editing things, but more towards the organization aspect. For example: to-do lists, tasks, your current deadlines, etc.

For me, I use KeyNote. It is freeware and you can easily add tasks in a hierarchical fashion. It also autosaves just incase your comp crashes so you won't lose your notes.

Yeah I've looked at the Intuos models and seen they are a bit pricey (around $330) for me, but I'm not *that* serious about getting into drawing so I may go for a different model, the Graphire (still by Wacom).

I really hate the new Intel logo also and its meaningless generic slogan. "Intel inside" just sounds way cooler and is different than the usual. Maybe it's just me, but I've always liked most companies' older logos the best (another example: AT&T).

My oldest computer is a Macintosh Performa 460. It is over 10 years old, I have it stored in some old closet, probably all dusty and won't work. It had an 030 processor (which is about equivalent to a 386) and an 80 MB hard drive and 4 (!) megs of RAM.

From Thread: Asrock dual939-sata2 first impressions Old Tue Jan 10, 2006 12:42:28 PM
Yeah it is the cheaper brand of Asus, but don't be fooled, they give good support with the Asrock name, and personally I've never missed out on getting a box full of crap i don't need along with my mobo. However, if I was a value added reseller I might cry over the fact it only comes with 1 sata cable, 1 ide cable, and 1 fdd cable. BUT it would be a good board to put in a system for an idiot who may screw up the BIOS since it resets if it doesn't POST 3 times in a row.

Oh yeah, and one cool thing about intels is that they ARE really good overclockers. Even all the way to 6ghz!

I havent played the game yet but looks like a GTA rip off. Is it anything like GTA?

The graphics are more detailed, with great lighting, but the controls can't compare to GTA's very responsive, great controls and camera views. If you just like to cause havoc in a giant city, True Crime NY is good.

From Thread: Intel 955XBK First Impressions Old Mon Jan 9, 2006 7:53:06 AM
This motherboard is great except for some really stupid things. The performance is what I would come to expect from a 955X chipset board. 2 PCIE x16 slots and they can be crossfired (one slot is x4 wires, but it will still work). The problem that I encountered is the sound card drivers suck. I installed the drivers off the CD and found that the volume control didn't work. I went to Intel's site to update the drivers and found that the new drivers don't multiplex the sound through the correct channels (IE: Testing the front channel sends sound through the center). I disabled the onboard sound and went with my Turtle Beach Santa Cruz... Nice hardware sound.

The Pentium D 830 with 2GB of DDR667 RAM is great. Nice and fast on Windows 2000 Smile.

It seems (this is not for sure) that the network card in the server was going faulty. The datacenter said they switched the entire 'server' (software) over to a new computer and everything should be peachy. I'll verify this when I get home.

That's because your using Linux or something that doesn't have Verdana and instead defaults to a sans-serif font.

From Thread: Battle Royale Old Mon Jan 2, 2006 9:16:44 PM
It's pretty good if only to see kids running around and violently killing each other however, as a movie it's only so-so. There are better movies but I'll still give this one a spin in the DVD player every once in a while. It's definately better than the atrocity that was "Suicide Club" everyone seemed to be equally as hyped about.

Battle Royale 2 sucked and should not be sought out btw.
