I changed the way template files are cached. The compiled PHP code now is saved to a file instead of a huge array and then eval'd. This way I can just include() the file. This might have broken somethings. Let me know if you catch any errors.

From Thread: World Series Of Poker Old Thu Oct 27, 2005 10:58:03 AM
Love this game! if you watch World Series of Poker and love the game you will like this game. Graphics are great you can start your own Poker Career and play with the big dogs in this game. watch for players Tells , Looks as if your watching the game on TV. What I dont understand is why some critics gave it a bad Rateing for the AI the AI in this game is better than any other Poker Game Ive played on the PC. Although I do see why they rated it so low for AI Because its so hard to get them to go all in easy to bluff your way to the end. but only when its down too the last Two or three other than that the game is the best for True Poker Players.

Over All Rateing For Poker Games Thumbs up Thumbs up Thumbs up Thumbs up

Thanks for the heads up Psy. I thought most multiplayer RPGs (Not MMORPGs) allowed that to happen. Starting a world with your friends and then playing it through. I can't phathom a huge game, though.

X3: Reunion is a space combat RPG (basically), and multiplayer in that game would be a daunting task. I don't know how it would work.

Maybe you will get the chance to review it further and post a UArt: »http://www.aseville.com/userarticles.php

From Thread: Server Moving Tomorrow Old Wed Oct 26, 2005 8:35:48 PM
While the server move is underway (and I'll post to let you know), you'll be able to access this site and the forums and aseville under different domains while the DNS is filtering through.

http://www.aselabs.net
http://www.aseville.info

ASE Forums and ASEville aren't setup yet, but will be tomorrow. ASE Labs (.net) is currently working with a slightly older database. This will be rectified tomorrow.

From Thread: Retooling Templating Old Tue Oct 25, 2005 10:06:40 AM
Upon the server move, I'm going to be doing the HTML transitions and such. In doing so, I'll be reworking the templating system to be straight PHP instead of a self made templating engine.

I find that there is no point in creating another template language when PHP can do this simply and faster. I'll have to do some testing at home.

From Thread: Hip Dysplasia Old Sun Oct 23, 2005 6:44:40 PM
My little dog Coco has hip dysplasia and she is limping and favoring one leg. We had x-rays done and it is most likely hip dysplasia. It is a genetic problem. We have a guarranty that there are no genetic defects, but we cannot give up the dog.

What can I do in this situation? I would like the place where I bought the dog to pay for the corrective surgery . At the very least, give us another dog to compensate us and we'll take care of the surgery. Giving the dog back is just not an option.

From Thread: Shadow of the Collossus Old Sun Oct 23, 2005 7:45:08 AM

Said By RudeMoody

I just checked out the CITY OF ROTT trailer...looks f'ing great! Lots of crazy, over-the-top violence, and I love the art style. The only thing i'd suggest is that you don't do all the voices yourself. It can be obvious....And hey, lemme see the script...maybe i could punch it up for ya if you want... (:

All the best, man!

Thanks Rude Moody. There's a ton of zombies getting blasted throughout. Lots of gore. Rude, best of luck with The Jessie Project!

Shadow of the Colossus Quick Review: In an empty, beautiful world, a lone swordsman and his horse hunt 16 enormous Colossus creatures to restore the soul of his girlfriend. What a game. The controls are easy enough to learn, allowing your character to walk, run, leap, roll, swim, ride your horse, and perform a couple tricks on-horse. The camera can be a pest at times, not always pointing where you want it; thankfully, you can control it with the right analog stick.

Fighting the various Colossus will require use of your brain at times, since getting to their brain to stab your sword isn't always as easy as it looks. The main thing to remember; disable your enemy, usually using the environment to your advantage. The turtle boss is a pain in the ass, but once you figure it out, things get a little easier. There's great variety in each boss, keeping things interesting.

The story is bare bones, traveling the land, following your sword beam towards the next Colossus. Still, exploring the land is a game in itself. Some really breathtaking views to behold, the landscape is natural and very realistic for a video game. There's over 100 miles of land to explore, no limitations. No day, night cycle though.

GTA fans may like the freedom, but things might get dull if you're looking for a lot to do in the world. There's lizards to hunt, castles to climb, caves and ancient ruins to explore, and colossus to defeat. Fans of ICO and Soul Reaver 1 really need to check this game out.

Graphics: 9/10: Very nice, but some slow down at times.
Controls: 8/10: Controls well enough, but the camera and horse can be a pain once in awhile, not doing what you want them to do.
Story: 7/10: Save your girl by killing the giants. That's about it.
Replay value: 8/10 Unless you love exploring the miles of land and forests, or defeating each Colossus, things might get dull.
Fun Factor: The colossus battles are the most fun, though the turtle boss was a real pain in the ass, in a bad way.
Recommended? Hell yeah. Some really amazing sights to see in this game.
OVERALL: 8/10, there needs to be a little more to do in the landscape other than walk around and look at things.

Just finished the game. Pretty awesome. The ending is unlike anything I've ever seen in a video game! Very cool and dark.

yeah i think the WE should SUE 180 solutions + Other similar companies and their fucking pop up ads. if i want to buy something then i will look for it so dont shove it in my face when im doing something else. once you get their sofware (ADWARE) installed in your pc its a bitch to remove. im still getting pop ups (and i dont know how i got this shit in the first place) and i have tried from 5-6 different programs to try and remove their ADWARE and im still getting POP-UPS in my PC. now i do not have the time to do a clean installation of WINDOWS in my PC which will take about 4 hours with apps and everything so i do not have to see their anoying ads poping up the little quality time i get with my pc .

theres a good article in the November issue of PC WORLD mag

I'm trying to make a hardware theme for the site and I need some images to make it work.

I need a nice 2 color light PCB looking background and a wire background. Green will be the color scheme.

I can't find tutorials on nice looking simple PCBs. I want the pattern to be tile-able.

It isn't cancelled. It is coming out in mid 2006 as it was planned too.

I'm getting a copy of the game to review, expect me not to do anything for the site or in real life once I get it.

Bullshit - lemme quote your own ASE GAMES newsite post (ripped off from gamespot, of course): "Xbox owners looking to go where no man has gone before in the space exploration game had better rent some Star Trek. A rep for Egosoft today told GameSpot, "At the moment, it is not planned for the Xbox."

told ya. be-atch.
