I need a chat program that can be used over a wifi ad-hoc network on the machines using windows 7. The ad-hoc network will be created by one laptop and the rest of the 30 machines will connect to it. once connected they should all be able to chat with each other or start a group chat. I checked google and found out that microsoft had an inbuilt software on windows vista called windows meeting space but it was discontinued with windows 7. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Just downloaded and installed DirectX. Now we get beyond my limited understanding - it appear that DirectX is no longer the default (what? language? program? plugin?) for any video-related operations. Many of my games and screens look (subtly) different and run much more slowly. is it possible to set DirectX as the default for everything video-related?

Both FF 4.0 and IE9 were not showing anything - had to disable hardware acceleration to get them to work properly. VLC was fixed by resetting output module to DirectX, the default (how I changed that I have no idea).

Right now the only thing that does not work properly is Windows Media Center - will play videos in full screen only. Any minimization results in black screen.

I guess the lock didn't work after the Version 4 upgrade. Needless to say, the contest has been over for years. Sorry!

I've not been real active here because I've been working on learning more about Ubuntu [Linux] and the terminal. Ya know the command line stuff. I gotta tell you for an old man that did not see a computer in High School the learning curve is pretty steep. If anyone knows a good book on the terminal/command line of Ubuntu or Linux in general I would appreciate it as a suggestion. It needs to be almost a spoon fed type of book 'cause I am terminally challenged

With the recent releases of the first Honeycomb tablet - the Motorola Xoom and Apple's second-gen iPad 2, the tablet computer landscape is finally starting to get interesting. Motorola Xoom has became a powerful rival to iPad 2. In fact, the Motorola Xoom and the Apple iPad are very similar with regard to basic hardware design and functionality. When you break it down, the iPad 2 trounces the Xoom in almost every category. That’s not to say that the Xoom isn’t a really good tablet, but unfortunately the iPad 2 manages to wipe the floor with it in everything from design to performance. That said, the Xoom can still find itself many happy homes with Android enthusiasts. Anyway, let us learn more about them.

Thx; I agree it is weird terminology. I was thinking the first option too because it uses the term "dual Channel". I guess I'll try it and double check that it reads all 16GB of RAM.

Thx Aron, I figured that the software RAID 1 in Linux is the best for my simple mirror; I'm reading up on the mdadm and LVM installations as well as the Virtual Box. Cross fingers for mid May build after 2 years of pinching pennies.
