My new gaming computer... Wed Jul 13, 2005 8:30:38 PM#12159Perm Link
I didn't know exaclty where to put this, so I put it in the gaming forum (after all, that is the main purpose of the computer). Anyway, here is a list of what I am getting:

Case: Thermaltake Xaser III V2000A [ with dual blue cold cathode kit (sound reactive) ]
Power Supply: SilverStone Zeus 650W Power Supply nVIDIA SLI Certified
Speakers: I don't know (some kind of surround sound ones)

Comments? It will cost me an arm and a leg but it is worth it to me. I already have enough money for half the computer and should have the other half somewhat soon.

Also, any suggestions for the OS I should use for the gaming computer. I am using Windows XP Professional on my computer right now (mainly because I got it for free).
*edit* Doh, I forgot I could have just edited the first post to ask this. Sorry about the double post.

Well, I have calculated it up and it will cost me arround $2000 or so (give or take a few hundred ) but I have some of the stuff already and over half the cash needed, so I should have it all around Christmas (I would have it sooner but with college starting up, my hours at work will be cut).

The newer Adaptec 1210SA cards absolutely suck for Serial ATA Raid. I'd stay away from the Adaptec line of Serial ATA cards. We couldn't get two identical WD hard drive in RAID 1 to work. The card says the array was degraded. This happened once every 3 bootups. The card was also unstable in Windows. I popped in a Promise card and it worked great.
If you do want to do RAID, serial ATA is the way to go.
