Sound/music software recommendations?

I'm looking for a relatively new-user friendly sound and music editing/composing program. I've heard about FLStudio, which seems reasonably priced and easy to use. Any other suggestions for sound/music programs?

The company name is NCH. They have tons of different sound and music editing software and programs.

Not a bad selection there, but some of their programs are pricey. I haven't really heard of them too much.
