Reality TV?

Has it run it's course already? What's your take on it? Personally, I can't stand this shit anymore, and I find series such as Newlyweds(MTV) and trump's gig...just HUGE pr stunts. Arg.

Like...what? You can have animated fiction...or TV fiction movies...

I'm sick of 'reality' shows. Are they really reality? I don't see my life mimicking those dumb shows.

A midget looking for more midget love? Me choosing my fathers new wife? Me being stranded in a remote location and being told ot survive? I can totally relate!

Reality TV was dead before it even started.

Actually, I think the first Survivor was okay, because it was new, and "Reality" TV wasn't real big (the Real World was really the only other one). Now it's just gotten retarded. I ESPECIALLY hate the ones where you have to marry someone. That's gay, really, really gay. They ALWAYS get divorced the day or week after the show ends.

Anyway, in a nutshell, I hate reality television (and Fox, they show WAY too much of that shit).

Mudvayne's Lost and Found has a track all about reality tv and how much it sucks. "Turn off the radio, turn off the tv... So entertaining, it makes me sick. I'm so uninterested, so unamused, disappointed in yourself to be so consumed."

I kind of like Trading Spouses or Trading Wives or whatever it's called. There's one on ABC and there's one on Fox. Some reality shows are just horrible.

I can't stand the reality shows nowadays. It's just more of the same stuff recycled over and over; the market is becoming very saturated with this genre.

I despise it. Sometimes, it's even obvious that it's fake. The only reason I'd watch TV is to forget reality, and I'm brought right back to it. Fuck that.

Now this is reality tv baby! Woohoo. How many mammograms can you take in one night with your little buy eating chocolatepudding out of your lap?

They call them reality shows not because they are real, but because they take ordinary or "real" (non-actors) people and put them on public television for entertainment instead of putting on infomercials or re-runs of every other show that people have seen millions of times over. They know that the "reality" shows will get more attention than anything else they put up on that spot for viewing.
I don't think they should continue calling them "reality" shows though. Instead they should call them "irreality" shows...or, like someone mentioned earlier...game shows.
