Flash Drive recall

if you own Lexar's JumpDrive and Secure II, be sure to read this article published by the inquire as there's a recall on teh drive because it will overheat. So be sure to turn in your drive for a new one.

This was originally posted in the news forum... I need to fix that problem that allows for posting a new topic.

Jumpdrives that don't catch on fire will also die after use. Be sure to keep regular backups that you have NOT on jump drives.

None of my drives flamed on me, but many did die already.

If you have a good drive, yes, it should last awhile. There are bad units in every batch, though.

i don't use it that often as intenet is quite readily available, so i usually use it to transfer files. Still, I htink these drives are still much better than the floppy, zip drives, external hd..

They are much better than floppies.

Floppies break all the time and sometimes don't work in different computers. Alignment problems...
