different browsers support different standards and parts of standards - but who supports what and how well ? As far as I can see, the lineup of the biggish names is as follows:
1. KHTML (Konqueror, Safari) is probably the best; supports a lot of the up-coming CSS3 and passes the Acid2 test.
2. none, but 2 3s
3. Gecko (Firefox, IceWeasel, Galeon, K-Meleon, ...) supports a lot of CSS3
3. Opera passes the Acid2 test - but does less CSS3 than Gecko
4. IE7 - I'm impressed. I haven't tested much, but it looks like a fair subset of CSS2 is supported - but only if the first tag is no comment ( seriously. ) - that's a wee bit more than I expected
