"i'll be sure to tease him when i can." she says, laughing slightly "your son is amazing ma'am..... he understands me like no one else can.... i mean by all rights he should hate me, fear me, loathe me and want to kill me.... b-but when i showed him..." she says softly.
"when i showed him what....who.... i am.... he didn't scream. he didn't run.... he just stood there and gave me all the love i could take" she smiles "along with other things...." she mumbles under her breath.
"Good." Dianne chuckles, her hands reaching out to take hold of Ed's once more. She softly slides her thumb over Ed's palm, holding back extra tears. "I raised him correctly then. If not I would have to give him a good beating." She laughs under her breath. She then looks at Nyx once more. "Please, call me Dianne. I'd prefer that. And Ed has told me a lot about you. He admires you very much. I can tell just by looking at him that he loves you greatly." A kind smile forms on Dianne's face.
While in the car, Michael looks at Blake and sighs. "You know that being a hunter is going to be a lot of work. You don't have any time for the one's you love. . . Odette will soon be nothing to you. Especially since she's a demon. . . you'll look at her differently after the council is done with you."
"I won't lose odette even if I am a hunter and the council can't change that but Ed is my brother every last demon related to his attacker will pay ..odette will understand because with love you need no words to hear their heart"
"Leave the attacker and his family to Nyx. If you take her kills then you'll be the one finding your head on the floor. I know how close you and Ed are, Blake. Dianne has told me. I left before I had the chance to see you. . ." Michael says, his grip tightening on the wheel. "But you're just all talk right now. Once you get started as a hunter. . . you'll understand. Because I loved Dianne with every ounce of my being. . . now look at where we are."
nyx nods lightly "it's a good thing you did raise him this way.....or i'dve never found my consort" she says smiling "i love him as much as he loves me....ok so maybe i love him more..... but don't tell him that ok dianne? " she laughs slightly.
"I promise to not tell him." Dianne laughs, her eyes now resting on Ed. "I promise." She lightly smiles. Dianne yawns, and leans forward to give Ed a quick peck on the forehead. "Good night." She whispers to him, and then relaxes in her chair. With a deep breath, Dianne closes her eyes and starts to fall asleep.
she smiles at dianna as she leans forward and nuzzles ed's cheek "love you" she humms, content with just watching him breathe.
"wake up yeah? protect me from my mothers wedding wrath ok? 'cause she's a mom and she'll nag me about it. and then there'll be an almost fight to the death between my sisters and maybe odette for the posistion of maid of honour while i avoid cake fights in my dress." she laughs softly
" i heard talking helps people when they're like this, in a coma i mean.... like it helps guide them back to us..... i hope so..... i'll be here talking everyday to prove the theory alright?" she smiles.
Dianne gets up and goes to the hospital's cafeteria. There was breakfast foods, and the area smelt mostly of cinnamon and coffee. She wasn't hungry, though. But maybe Nyx would be. With a quiet whisper to herself, Dianne grabs a plate and fills it with two cinnamon buns, and then grabs a bottle of water. She heads back to the room and places the food on a wheeled table for Nyx.
Monty grins at Blake as he starts driving, "You've got a big day ahead of you." He then does a giddy little laugh and an awkward looking dance type of move before sipping his coffee. "Isn't this just exciting?"
Odette had driven to the hospital, but before going to Ed's room she goes to the gift shop.
"Focused? That's good!" Monty nods, handing Blake the coffee. "You'll need this." He says while pulling into an undeground tunnel. It almost seemed endless. But, there's a loud clicking noise as doors open ahead, and reveals a large garage that's filled with bikes and cars of all kinds. The bigger and more lethal things like tanks and helicopters and planes are hidden somewhere else.
Monty parks the car and steps out, the lights of the garage flickering on. He starts to walk towards a smaller door, looking back every now and then to make sure Blake wasn't touching anything.
"Of course." Monty nods as he presses his finger against a scanner, and the door swings open. He steps inside, quickly pulling Blake in after him as the door slams shut. Then, the elevator shoots up. When it comes to a quick stop, the doors slide apart and Monty continues walking. Now, it looks like any regular office building.
"This is where the council is." Monty points out. "Me. My place is a ways away from here. We hunters do a lot of traveling. I mean A LOT. That's why none of us are married. None of us have families. None of us have any life." He smiles brightly.
"Because that's not how being a hunter works. Why do you think your parents are rarely home? When they are, it's because of the demon sightings that occur in Edgley." Monty chuckles. "Also, we have big plans for you kiddo. From what the council already has planned, you'll see Edgley about once or twice every year. Otherwise they think you'll do great with the European Unit."
Odette is startled, and nearly drops the snow globe that she was playing with. "Wh-what?" She stutters, her tone clearly revealing the confusion.
Monty looks at Blake and laughs. "You're funny, Blake. But when I say Europe. I mean all of Europe. You don't stay in one place more for more than a week. Blake, you want to be a hunter. I told you there's a lot more to it than you think. A whole lot of sacrifices."
"Oh. . . alright. . . see ya." Odette says, blinking as she puts the phone away.
"But will she want to travel so much? Have you considered that? Edgley is the center of demon activity. This is her home. This is where she belongs. Blake, I let her stay with her aunt for a reason, instead of throwing her out to another country." Monty says as he keeps walking down the hall, which had suddenly become completely vacant. There weren't any offices, not a single door or painting on the wall.
