I'll be the first to go if they want someone in space.

“A human mission to a near Earth asteroid would be scientifically worthwhile,” said Chris McKay, deputy scientist in the Constellation science office at the NASA Johnson Space Center. “It could be part of an overall program of understanding these objects. Also, it would be useful, instrumentally, in terms of understanding the threat they pose to the Earth.”

Yeah, asteroids may be made out of cheese or something!

Would it not be cool to find out that asteroids or another heavenly body is full of an important natural resource? I wonder what resource we could use the most right now.

Its not who a person is in the inside, but what he does that defines him.

hmm.....
does not seem like a good idea, i dont know how they plan to land on an asteroid smoothly and without any harm to the person inside it.
OR they have discovered some new technology.

It is known that asteroids contain many useful things to mine for. It is one of those things that may drive commercial deep space travel.

yeah some of the asteroids contain nickel, iron, uranium and even diamonds.
but how will they mine in the outer space in those big astronaut suites, if they are able to land properly.

Robots can be used to mine. The manned missions are gravy.

This sounds sketchy to me as it would be extremely hard to land on an asteroid; well it looks hard in the movies LOL

Movies are movies. A planned mission to an asteroid would be planned years in advanced.
