What is the ideal Valentine's Day movie? Wed Feb 14, 2007 10:22:12 PM#34107Perm Link
Of course I am thinking that a romantic comedy is the ideal genre for a day like Valentines, something more "girly" where she gets to live happily ever after with the boy of her dreams! For those, I think of funny teenage movies, like Never Been Kissed with Drew Barrymore, or 10 things I hate about you, with Julia Styles... Those were funny movies and yet nice and romantic... what do you think? What would be the ideal movie for Valentine's Day?
Princess Bride is one of my all time favorites, it's hard to believe it was written by the same guy that wrote Marathin Man - talk about a deviation in styles
Yes. Although unless I'm terribly mistaken, it was originally a holiday to show love for all mankind, not just your significant other or someone you had a crush on. Kind of like...brotherly love. Or a day where you're not supposed to hate other people. It then became more commercial when they started to sell chocolate.
Huh? Signature? What's going on with that signature?
Eh, I don't think it should be a real holiday. It's not about love, it's about fooling people into thinking you like them for a piece of candy or paper that tells you that you're special...when in reality you're just telling yourself or making others tell you. It's fucking ridiculous.
