Car Bombs in London

Please tell me that they are not resorting to car bombs and sucide bombers? To be honest I am surprised that this hasn't happened before now. I cannot imagine living in a world where you have to worry about sucide bombers. I know that other places this is commen but I just find the whole thing sick and sad.

That's part of the world we live in. I'm still not understanding why A) they don't just leave us alone or B) We bomb the shit out of them to the dark ages. None of this tip-toe fighting and dieing. I want a glass parking lot.

Someone I know told me that the British are pulling their forces out of Iraq and the terrorists are seeing it as a sign of weakness, therefore they're striking now.

I hadn't heard yet that they are pulling their forces out of Iraq? Did they announce this yet or something? If so I must have missed that, I would think that this is what the terrorists would want.

I didn't hear it either. Yet...I kinda thought in the back of my mind that it was only a matter of time before acts like suicide bombing reached places like the UK.

I am surprised to have not seen them before this also. I just think it is so much harder to fight someone that is willing to kill themselves by blowing themselves up. But it doesn't surprise me to see it starting.

I think it's very interesting how much emphasis is being placed on the fact that the suspects are professionals in the medical field. Does it make it worse?

It might be so that the people are convinced that terrorists in general are coming from various walks of life and simply aren't just "shady foreigners". It might also be an excuse for the British gov't to step up security and face less resistance in terms of the number of people believing such increased measures in security violate liberties. Just a thought.

You know I never really thought about them being doctors. I just never thought of it before with terriorists in these kinds of occupations. It is scary when you really think about it.
