It looks cool. But if they want to compete, they should work on lowering that price tag.

they should... hell, I am not going to pay 300 bucks for an mp3 player even if it has 16GB of memory..

For the time being hard drive players work out as a cheaper solution. But I guess it is matter of time.

On the other side people are buying mostly ipods even though they are the most expensive players... or perhaps that's why?

I think this product rivals the iPod in all aspects. Except, it's not trendy to have one. That's the only real edge that the iPod has.

Could the price tag be higher because they're using flash memory?

Yeah, but people won't care what it uses. They want cheap.

I dunno about that. I would jump at that one just for the ability to expand the memory past the normal amount. SD cards are cheap as hell, so one could easily buy the 4 gig model, buy a 4 gig SD card for 30 bucks and double the amount of space.
