Directory services run nearly every enterprise network today. Each place you see Active Directory, LDAP is working its magic. Find out how to easily install a LDAP server of your own on Ubuntu.
I had no problems with OpenLdap in the initial configuration, but what if you want to change the directory being used or not use the "helpful" configuration utility at all and would like to configure OpenLdap with slapd.conf directly, such as would most likely be the case for additional DITs?
Well, this is where the helpful section on AppArmor https://help.ubuntu.com/8.04/serverguide/C/apparmor.html comes into play. You'll either need to disable AppArmor entirely, remove the profile for slapd, or reconfigure the profile for slapd.
