Apple still has problems when selling its products to people. <a href="http://news.cnet.com/8301-13579_3-9964230-37.html">People still can't use the iPhone without hacking it for other networks</a>. No CDMA version either.

The GPS in this model makes it worth it. I'll look into how much the plans cost for the new phone. I've got a GPS/PDA already, but I'd rather have one that has a data plan I can use with my laptop.

What they don't tell you is that if you resign AT&T upped their coverage costs, so after two years you end up paying $240 more.
I truly don't think the redesigned version is that big of a deal, really. Still no flash support, and still making sacrifices that other (admittedly inferior) "iPhone killers" don't make. I wouldn't spring for it over a previous one, and I think the fact that it still suffers from the problems it has is dumb, but one might as well get one now. 3G support is a big deal to some, and if I was to get an iPhone it probably would be to me, but its hardly revolutionary like the iPhone was at first. More like how it should have been in the first place.

How much are the plans now?

I might get one. I'd want an unlimited data and tethering plan. What does it cost now? Voice minutes aren't that important to me, just the data.

They better not doing something ridiculous and charge for the GPS if it is a real GPS.

I've heard that from someone who currently uses AT&T, and he said that they upped the rate $10 a month if you sign a new contract. Other than that I haven't heard of anything.

Aron, cheapest plan for the iPhone is, 39.99 450 minutes, and unlimited data and text is 39.99, no matter what data plan you get, its unlimited data, just the text messages decrease. I kept going over my text limit, being the highest they have besides unlimited is 1500. I was going over by like 1000 each month.. Comes out to be like 100+ each month. Not bad really. I don't use the 450 minutes at all, so I wish there was a lower plan in that aspect.

That's the BS part.

I don't just want a data plan for the phone, I need a tethering plan for use with a laptop. The iPhone might be good for quick information lookups and such, but I need a real computer for my travels. Their plans for tethering are so limited. It costs $60 and you only get 5GB per month! I believe that's correct.
