Question on new computer Fri Sep 24, 2004 11:42:05 AM#9978Perm Link
Here it is. I just upgraded my computer from P3 - 900 w/ 128 meg of RAM to a ASUS mobo w/ AMD XP - 2600 with 512 of Kingston RAM. I got one problem though. When I start it up, it says the RAM is 200Mhz, but on the box it says its 333Mhz. Anyone know why? I checked through the BIOS and couldn't find anything.
if theres nothing in the bios that allows you to change the setting of the ram, then its most likely a jumper setting on the motherboard itself. look in the manual that came with the motherboard. one more thing, make sure that it isnt really running at 400mhz, cuz if its ddr it might only show you the fsb not the actual operating speed of the ram.
