Router problem

How many of you use a router and what speeds do you get useing it on the speed tests?
I currently get 1.9megs although 3meg is what i was promised what can be done here to improve too 2.5 because I used tobe at that.

also.... does anyone here use vif I'm looking for dns server #'s the web site has these as there only servers.
Primary DNS: 216.239.64.154
Secondary DNS: 216.239.64.155
If I had different ones my QoS would maybe improve i was hopeing for a third thats why I ask.

Try Verizon's DNS: 199.45.32.40, 199.45.32.41, 151.203.0.86, 151.203.87.

Have you taken out the router and connected directly to the PC and speed tested?

DNS should have nothing to do with speeds you are getting. What kind of router is it?

The DNS servers shouldn't have anything to do with your speed. Check a direct connection to the ISP and then connect the router back and see if it drops. It is possible your node is congested.

There are many things that can cause your speed to drop.
