Digital music is clearly the direction the industry is going into. CD sales continue to drop and people don't really buy whole albums anymore unless they're really into the artist. Any artist who doesn't get in on iTunes is an idiot. Even if they don't make much on each download, they're still getting exposure. Most of their money is made performing live shows anyway.
Got that right. In mose cases, the RIAA says to a starting artist that this is as good as it gets... that's it.
It is interesting to see the book publishing industry. When your work is published, you retain the copyright to your work... in music, the RIAA gets it.
