IOS: DHCP: offer: server 192.168.1.1 not in approved list

192.168.1.1 is the DHCP server on my internal network and the 2612 that I have is trying to get its IP from that server. The problem is the router is rejecting it saying that above message "DHCP: offer: server 192.168.1.1 not in approved list." I don't know how to make it work.

Also, I don't want to just add 192.168.1.1 as the dhcp server. I want to be able to eventually plug this into the cable modem and use it as a house router. I need to know how to make it use any DHCP server.

As an update. I reset the configuration and redid the programming of the router and now everything works as expected. I still don't know what the problem was.
