It definitely takes a lot of concentration and a heap of patience to watch most black and white movies, because you have to imagine the colors yourself. Silent films are even trickier, but I enjoy the funnier stuff, it's not so hard to get into.
My favorite classic actress would have to be Mae West. She really puts men and 1930's America in its place!

She also was quite attractive. I really don't imagine the colors at all...
BTW, anyone who complains about not understanding the ongoing situation in the middle east needs to watch Lawrence of Arabia....
