What is your favorite classic movie?

Everybody talks about new movies, which of course its great. Last night I got stuck watching "Casablanca" again, and enjoyed as if it was the first time. Do you watch old movies? Is there any movie you've seen many times?

Lawrence of Arabia. Fucking ROCKS!

Most of my collection is old stuff!
My favorite all time movie being the Monkees' Head (1969)
I also own Scarface (1932) which was way better than the 83 version but people suck and can't stay awake for a black and white movie (they can't understand that lingo, that's all!), a bunch of Mae West stuff, silent Rudolph Valentino flicks...
I can't get enough Cary Grant and James Cagney movies, as well as funny stuff like the Marx Brothers, Three Stooges, Laurel and Hardy.
I also have a lot of 60s exploitations and 40s-50s educational and drug scare films...been my latest addiction. I'm working on my B-movie scary stuff now.

Roxy, I would love to check out your collection! Sounds like the stuff to watch in days like today here in Germany: nothing to do and everything closed! Instead I'm watching "Pimp my Ride" on MTV.

Unfortunately, I often have problems with black & white movies for some reason. Kinda make me a bit dizzy, I get motion sick from visuals a lot for some reason =\

I do like some old movies, though. I really love the typical movie-almost-everyone-has-seen, The Wizard of Oz (1939). I also love West Side Story, but I don't know if that's a 'classic' or not. Is Paper Moon a classic? I liked that one. One of the few black & white movies that don't make me sick.

I think my favorite 'classic' has got to be "Breakfast at Tiffanys". I just love Audrey Hepburn and the movie just really makes me smile.

Oh you made me remember Audrey Hepburn!!!! I love anything with her in it! Two for the Road and breakfast at Tiffanys are some of my favorites! I need to get them on DVD

It definitely takes a lot of concentration and a heap of patience to watch most black and white movies, because you have to imagine the colors yourself. Silent films are even trickier, but I enjoy the funnier stuff, it's not so hard to get into.
My favorite classic actress would have to be Mae West. She really puts men and 1930's America in its place!

BTW, anyone who complains about not understanding the ongoing situation in the middle east needs to watch Lawrence of Arabia....

When I studied film, I discovered how fascinating Black and White movies are, just because of the contrast and the use of light. I forgot one of my favorite classics: Citizen Kane.

My favorite Marx Bros movies are the Cocoanuts and Duck Soup...that one was crazy. I think it had something to do with communism but I am not sure.

Mine would have to have been Breakfast at Tiffany's or Gone With the Wind. I also enjoyed just about anything Katherine Hepburn was in.

I don't like the black & whites, but there are so many oldies that I really like, it'd be tough to pick. But, the ones I do rewatch are Moonstruck and Mask both starring Cher. She is the ultimate biker chick!

I tend to like the old holiday movies. Miracle on 34th Street is my alltime favorite, but there have also been some great versions of A Christmas Carol filmed. My favorite starred Alistair Sim as Scrooge.

Besides those, I like some of Errol Flynn's movies like Captain Blood or The Prince and the Pauper.
