Accessing personal comp from distant location...

Ive been researching ways to remotely access my PC from various different comps, and ive found nothing. the only thing i found was MS server program which hasnt even come out yet. The only problem with that is it requires a server and winXP professional. Is there any OTHER way to remotely access my PC's harddrive content if im at another location?

I use NX for remote control of my machines.

For just files? SFTP.
