PHP 5 Installed

I just installed Apache 2 and PHP 5 with all the goodies from the source on the server here. Now I'll just wait for Chris to explain to me how to make the control panel for the server do its thing with the new setup I made. Once I get this done, I can start to put up content once again.

Not really, but if you don't have control over your own php install, you'll need to make changes to your scripts just in case.

Don't use old arrays like HTTP_GET_VARS, instead use _GET.

Don't assume register_globals will be on.

NEVER assume magic_quotes_gpc will be on or off! Make your script work both ways (meaning if it isn't on, add the slashes your self).

Magic quotes are for POST and GET vars between forms. It will escape certain chars for SQL statements.
