The Endless: The Death of Delight.

The world is a strange place, full of strange things, and all these things need to be controlled. The is the story of how man kind almost destroyed happiness.

Destiny looked at his book in disbelief, today was a day he had been dreading for a vary long time. he had read the entry time and time agian, but could not believe what it said, "on this day mankind shall shatter a most precious thing. for today they will crush delight and drive the world into chaos." he read allowed to himself. "what does it mean?" Destruction asked, already knowing the answer. "just what it says dear brother, the humans are going to do something to cause the death of our youngest sister delight." Destiny said
"there has to be another option, some way to save her." Destruction said.
"There is not. I have tried to find a way to prevent this, but I could find none." destiny said looking down grimly.
"it makes no sense, we are endless, we can not die, least the human race should die with us." Destruction said
"but it does not state she will die, just be destroyed. her joy will be dispearsed for a time, a world without joy, a terrible thing, but it will return after a time, not as wonderful as it was, but less controlled and more random. at the least it will be a hard thing to come by in those days." he said.
"what should we do? should we tell her?"destruction asked
"no, that will just speeden the process, for the news of ones own destruction can bring despair to even someone as happy as Delight." Destiny said
"he's right" Despair said sulking "I'd hate to harm poor Delight, but I would have to do my job if she where told of her demise."she said.

Delight wondered the streets, she loved the fresh air of the night, then again she loved everything. well, not sad, angry, mean people, but anything that was happy and bright she loved.

"ah, there she is, just as I had suspected." a man said into a speaker, "get her, get her now, activate the containment field." he said suddenly delight was surrounded, she couldn't move, she had no power, the field was designed to make her powerless. "wha- HEY, LET ME GO" she yelled, but she kept her playful smile on her face.
"hello miss, Delight is it? I have been waiting, you see we noticed you years ago, my organization. we have been monitoring your activities, in the hopes of capturing your sibling death, but you will do." he said
"what do you want with me?" she asked.
"it is simple, we need your powers of joy, for it is a great motivator, and to take it away is a great demotivator" he said laughing. "we need you, to win the war you see. with you on our side our men will have nothing to fear, they will be to happy to fear." the man said.
"load her into the truck and radio to the base to prep the machine." he said then turned back to delight "you will like the machine dear, it is quite comfy, atleast until we flip the on switch." he laughed walking to his car as she was loaded into a truck.

everyone of the endless, except delight, appeared in the main house kitchen. "IT HAS BEGUN" Destiny said loudly, "we have a choice to make, we can try and save our little sister, thus breaking our most ancient rule, never directly influence the human world, or we could let this horrid act happen, and watch as the humans not only destroy our sister, but themselves, and finally us in the process." Destiny said
"I think it is Hillarious, about time little goody goody got a smack in her smiling face." Desire said, she never did like her sister.
"before we have this discussion, I want to know why the humans are doing this?" Dream said
"one here has influenced them to do so. perhaps they gave them a dream of what to do," he said starring at dream, but knowing he hadn't done it "or maybe, the desire to cause chaos." he said turning to desire, not completely sure she hadn't done it. "the one thing we can assume is that someone here is a traitor." he said. everyone convined on desire. "Alright desire, take you spell off those men, do it now." Death said "or I swear to you that I will take your life before the others."
"relax, it wasn't me, I would never....well the fact is I didn't do it this time." she said turning away
"ENOUGH!" a loud booming voice echoed from behind. "It was me, can't you see, after years of giving the humans the ability to destroy, MY ability, I have messed up. it is because of me that destruction has fallen upon our little sister." the voice said, as everyone turned they where a bit shocked to see that Destruction had said all this.
"but, you loved delight, you too where much closer then any one else here was." Desire said. "why would you..."
"it was an accident." he said turning then walking through a gate of fire. "don't come looking for me, I will not be easily found." he said as the door closed you could barely make out a tear on his face, the only tear he had ever cried.
there was silence for over an hour, but it was broken by destiny "we must fix this. I will remain here and tell you the best path to take, but that is the best I can do." he said
"then I will take their lifes." death said, "I will pay for their early deaths later, for delight it is worth it." she disappeared into a cloud of black smoke.
