Well, you can't really say that until you've played the game. For all we know, it could bomb.

Making pre-emptive judgements is the #1 cash cow for the video game industry. There are SO many people that'll buy a game because of a commercial or an advertisement, and not actually research the game.

Whoa! Settle down, woman! Settle! I KNOW it's remake of MGS1, I've known that for a very, very long time. I'm just saying, just because it's a remake, doesn't mean it'll be good. So get your head out of your ass and entertain the possibility of it totally sucking ass.

They can still butcher it, I've seen it happen before.

And you need to settle the fuck down, I just voiced the possibility that it may turn out shitty, then you started insulting me for that. I don't know why, you didn't create the fucking game.

Are you listening to yourself? In fact, are you listening to ME?! I know it's a remake, therefore it SHOULD be the same game with better graphics. BUT! I have seen remakes of games and the game has been changed so much that it SUCKS whereas its predecessor did not. And how does it being out for pre-order change the fact that it might suck? Are you retarded? Yes.

Tell me, when you see a remake of a movie you like, how often does it suck? Did you not see the remake of Psycho? Willard? =P Simply because it's a remake, does not seal it's wonder. You can never know anyhing until it's done. It could be the best game ever, but it could suck ass. Since nobody has played it, there is absolutely NO way of knowing. You can only assume. And you know what assuming does =P Even an exact remake could suck, simply because it's been done before, and may not be well-remade. Better graphics doesn't equal a better game.

Pre-order means shit about the quality of the game. Tell me, if it wasn't Metal Gear Solid, or some other franchise you enjoy, you wouldn't be so excited about it's release, now would you? The only thing the pre-order proves is that it has the potential to be a cash-cow. The company KNOWS Metal Gear is popular, and caters to it's fans to try and rope in more money. =P

Huh? Signature? What's going on with that signature?

I just hope they know how to make a good remake. Making a good remake of MGS means leaving everything in, only improving (which doesn't mean taking anything out) and adding in better things. But again, leave everything else in. Don't take anything out. Adding in the ability to hang on rails and put bodies in lockers and better graphics is all good stuff to add in, but I just hope they don't take out or change anything, especially the story and dialogue.

This is just one tiny example but I hope they leave in the secrets, like how you can watch Meryl do sit ups in her underwear and the guard with his pants down, and stuff like that.

Anyway, I guess it all doesn't matter to me since I don't have a GC. Damn Silicon Knights! Greedy bastards. If Kojima still has the ultimate say as far as this MGS remake, I really really hope he considers the fact that MGS and MGS 2 (the games that got the most fans and fanfare) both came out on playstation consoles. Meaning that he should consider making another MGS remake for Playstation consoles too. I can't help but feel like he's left me (a PS2 owner, not a GC owner) out in the cold.

(Nice signature Huge Grin) Yeah, that was a bit disappointing. I mean, I have a Gamecube, but all of my MGS fan friends do not.

Yeah dude it sucks. I get why the remake is coming out on GC only--the business deals and MG's history with Nintendo and all that, but it still seems ethically and morally wrong to me Smile MGS came out on a playstation console, so then they remake it and release it only for GC?

Isn't that like, say, releasing a remake of Halo, but only for PS2s? I guess that's a bad example but you know what I mean. Anyway, everybody says there's no way in hell PS2 owners will ever see a MGS remake for themselves, so this entire post is useless venting.

It's good to vent. Better than entering the Nintendo HQ and going out in a Blaze of Glory...though that would be pretty awesome.
