Central Street Games Announces Partnership with uBid Holdings, Inc. to Pilot Online Game "Word2Win"
CHICAGO, April 4, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Central Street Games recently announced a partnership with uBid Holdings, Inc. to pilot its "Word2Win" online game on uBid.com, and via Facebook and mobile download. (http://www.ubid.com/word2win)
uBid's version of Word2Win blends trivia and the traditional "hangman" style game to test players' knowledge in a variety of categories such as Television, Sports, Movies and Current Events. Topical questions covering NASCAR and NCAA March Madness are also included.
The uBid pilot features four games over the course of 30 days, offering weekly prizes including a Garmin GPS, iLuv ArtStation Pro, Keurig Coffee Maker and a Canon PowerShot Camera.
Game play can occur via Facebook Connect or anonymously, and players have the choice of testing their skill via uBid.com's website, Facebook Page or they can download Word2Win via iTunes and Android Marketplace.
When playing Word2Win via Facebook connect, a lively Leader board reminds players where they and other competitors are at in "real time" as questions are answered. uBid.com also shows live "Auctions Closing Soon" streaming on the game page which allows players to shop as they move up the Word2Win Leader board.
Players "earn" entries to win weekly prizes through game play, and through a variety of other point-related options that uBid has set forth to help them gain more entries.
It's already proving to be a fun and challenging way for our customers and visitors to go 'beyond the bid' and compete in a new and exciting way."
"Games are a great tool for engaging and building online communities," said Andy McKenna, Founder of Central Street Games.
The uBid Word2Win pilot will run on uBid.com through early April 2012.
