EU Tries Software Patents Again

It is so strange that the EU 'gets' software patents... They just don't work! That won't stop stupid government bodies paid by cartels to keep trying for them, though. It amazes me that the US doesn't see this. Why do we have these litigation prone software patents?

The EPLA is "anchronistic", and is even disliked by some large companies such as Nokia and GlaxoSmithKline, according to Austrian Green MEP Eva Lichtenberger. Others said the measure would effectively take the software patent issue out of the reach of the EU's democratic controls.
