From Thread: Falling Down Old Fri Jul 15, 2005 12:37:16 PM
The best part is when those two Gang members want his briefcase because he is on a rock with writing that says

"This is fucking private property, no tresspassers, this means fucking you."

Douglas responds with
"maybe if you wrote it in fucking english then I could fucking understand it."

then he whacks the shit out of them both then chases them down the hill yelling

"" YOU FORGOT THE BRIEFCASE, WHAT ABOUT THE BRIEFCASE."

HAHAHA...too funny. Damn good movie!

The newer Adaptec 1210SA cards absolutely suck for Serial ATA Raid. I'd stay away from the Adaptec line of Serial ATA cards. We couldn't get two identical WD hard drive in RAID 1 to work. The card says the array was degraded. This happened once every 3 bootups. The card was also unstable in Windows. I popped in a Promise card and it worked great.

If you do want to do RAID, serial ATA is the way to go.

All bots are still allowed to spider, I just took away the random generating session ids in the url. Everytime a bot would come to the site, it would see 'new' pages to crawl.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune Nacho. I might approach the guy and say "I found a buyer willing to pay me cash and I am going to need the notebook back unless you can show me some dough." If the guy needs more time have him sign off on a piece of paper of anykind stating what he intends. Even unofficial documentation is considered a binding agreement and can be held in any court of law.

As for my Dell 8200 Inspiron P4 1.4. It's sitting in my closet collecting dust ever since the display bulbs went. I have neglected it after I put togther the desktop and I suppose when a new display falls into my lap I will put it back together. Keep your fingers crossed.

Not a bad config. I might bump the cheap CDRW and CDROM to go with a more robust DVD+-RW. Another Hard Drive and run RAID 0 (striping for faster response times) could prove to be most beneficial to your gaming. Depending on your games of interest you may want to look into a quality mouse as well. Best mouse I have seen for FPS games has to be the Razor. Optical response is overwhelming to that of a standard optical. Having a top notch rig won't make you a top notch gamer. Consider all factors when preparing to game. Enviroment, seating, pc and sense enhancement devices. ie:headphones, audio, mice. Best of luck with your box and gaming.

Try trouble shooting your hardware devices one at a time. Start by disconnection all device and hooking them up one at a time. Many times faulty memory, failing HD's, or a failing PSU can cause system instability. A good way to finding the problem is to find what is not.

Hopefully with this retirement of Justice O'Connor and possibly some more retirements in the future, we'll see some change. That is really unlikely though because el Grande Stupido Presidente will surely elect someone very similar to the past justices....

You couldn't be more wrong. El Grande Stupido Presidente, as you put him, will most likely elect a rather conservative judge which is what people should want. The recent judgements on taking away private property was decided by the more liberal judges. Conservatives are in favor of less government, remember.

From Thread: I Saw Star Wars Episode III... Old Tue Jul 12, 2005 9:32:35 PM
What made Episode III for me was the fact that it wasn't so "good" all the time. They finally brought some real evil back into the story and it opened up an entirely different set of emotional responses while watching the film that I haven't felt since Empire, and that is why I think this movie ranks right behind Empire and New Hope.

Cocmast has once again raised speeds instead of lowering the price. The upload still remains at a pitiful 384k. At that low, we may even be seeing the upload be saturated by the download overhead.

From Thread: The new Batman cartoon Old Fri Jul 8, 2005 7:21:59 AM
The Batman cartoon on WB has some slick action scenes from what I've seen. Other than that, I don't know why they had to make another Batman cartoon series, since it looks very similar to the original cartoon. What are they bringing to the new show that wasn't in the original? That's the question.

I caught the episode where the Joker is trying to play the role of Batman, and make Bruce Wayne turn into the Joker. The action was pretty cool, and it's a new take on the Joker's personality.

But in the end, why make a new Batman cartoon series when we already have the original cartoon?

From Thread: FAQ System Old Thu Jun 30, 2005 6:25:03 PM
Before I start, why not post some User Articles at ASEville! »http://www.aseville.com/userarticle.php I see no one has tried the system yet Sad.

Anyway, onto programming the FAQ system. I envision it being the same as the UArts section. There will be members that can post stuff into the FAQ directly, or can just ask the question to be placed into the FAQ. Let's say someone wants to know how to upload an avatar and there is no entry in the FAQ for it. A member would be able to ask something like 'How do I get my own picture below my name?' and the FAQ system would save it until someone that knows answers the question. The answers would be what needs to be approved. The FAQ system would be able to handle all sorts of topics, not just a generic FAQ for the site. We could have FAQ on a range of topics including overclocking or benchmarking (you get the idea).

Comments/questions?

From Thread: Spyware from hell Old Tue Jun 28, 2005 12:33:27 PM

Said By zip

I have been cleaning spyware from a computer at work and have generally had good success getting rid of them.
This time there is a program that loads up on boot even in safe mode. When I end task on it it pops right back in.
Does anyone know where that could be loading up from in safe mode?

More than likely the program is a trojan virus of some sort that has spawned as part of saome spyware or adware.

Try running a full system scan using Norton or McAfee.

Here's an example of a program that loads on bootup and regenerates itself in the registry each time you remove it...I and many others call them Stinger programs.
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/adware.betterinternet.html <- THAT is a bugger to get rid of without the removal tool

I enjoyed it very much. Definately worth the three dollars to rent. It did have sort of a Matrix feel to it...but who cares? I like originality as much as the next guy...and this movie did have some originality to it with the great plot and storyline.
