Pain in right wrist Thu Jul 14, 2005 6:56:52 AM#12176Perm Link
I'm having a rather acute case of pain in my right wrist. It happened a few days ago and it hurts when I apply pressure to it or move it. I really hope it isn't a case of RSI (CTS). I'm going left handed for mouse movement now and typing with one hand.

Have you had any injuries lately? Fell and tried to catch yourself? Strained opening a jar?
Could be CTS...I've had it and it sucks. Are you having any continued aching pain? You say it hurts when you move it or put pressure on it? Does it ache at all when you do not move it? Is it in your hand at all or just in your wrist? Do you have shooting type pains at all up your arm towards your elbow or in your forearm area?
Do I sound like a Doctor? I stayed in the Holiday Inn Express, does that count?
You are stupid, I don't know why anyone puts up with you. I have a sharp pain explained above and you believe it is from jerking off. Nice one... jerk off. Your sarcasm does not matter to me in this topic. Move along.
I remember that it was acute when it started and I think I did do something to make it happen. I'm going to get it checked out just in case. It does not hurt when I don't do anything, but I do feel pressure. It does not hurt anywhere else accept my wrist.

You should have seen that reply from C3Pholes coming a mile way!
I too am having problems with my right wrist, but only when I lean on it. I'm pretty sure it was from putting my weight on my wrist while I was reading in bed and when I spent the last three days crouching on the ground painting the trim of a house (again putting all my weight on my wrist). My mother and grandmother have horrible authoritis. But unless I my left hand starts hurting so bad I can't draw or paint then I'll not be complaining too much.
I have had similar pains for a while and they have gotten much worse over the last few years. Now, when it's really cold out and I have to be outside doing things with my hands, like shovelling snow or cleaning snow off my car, it gets to the point where my hands get completely crippled and I can't hold the shovel or scraper anymore. I am sure that it's related in some way to CTS, and I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy, it's completely excruciating. I hope that isn't the case for Aron, and that it's just some mild sprain or something less serious than CTS.
It could be arthritis from increased usage, such as typing. It could also be because of how you sleep, like if you were to lean on it for extended period of time causeing blood loss. There is another thing I'm thinking about but I can't remember what the name of it is.
Michael: Jodie, how's my schedule look for today? Jodie: You've got a conference and dinner party at the Japanese Embassy regarding wildlife protection. Michael: Oh, yeah...sorry, but I'll have to cancel that. I'm heading out to save America!
Aron refers to some cheating that we see online, with some people making their way up to places they couldn't be able to get to otherwise or doing some lag cheats. He still uses his wrist as an excuse though. ;-)
