Anyone use windoze 64 at all? Mon Jan 2, 2006 5:00:36 PM#14239Perm Link
I'm going to be getting an athlon 64 chip later this week, and once it's in there I plan on dual booting between windows xp 32bit and mandriva x86_64. HOWEVER, I am curious if anyone here has used win64 and if so, just how bad is the device support?
I've seen it and I recommend staying away from it. Driver support is crap and remember that 16-bit programs will NOT work... Many installers are still 16-bit so that means many programs will not install.
64 bit right now is not worth it.
2014 is going to be a good year. More content, more streamlining. Be a part of history!
on a side note, I have gentoo linux x86_64 running on my new rig, works like a dream. (and I have a x86 chroot for 32bit binaries, like windows media drivers)
