iQi Mobile Wireless Charger for iPhone Reaches $30k Indiegogo Campaign Target 10 Days Early with Remarkable Success
LONDON, November 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
The iQi Mobile Wireless Charger For iPhone Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign
reaches its target with ample responses from funders.
Fonesalesman reports excellent response to their Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign for
the iQi Mobile Wireless Charger for the iPhone by reaching their $30k mark just 10 days
shy of their target date. So far, over 520 funders have risen to support the campaign to
bring the conveniently streamlined charging system to market in time for Christmas.
Clearly filling a need for iPhone users, the iQi Mobile simply plugs conveniently through
the lightning connector, and seamlessly disappears into the back of any soft protective
case. The size of a credit card and Qi compatible, the wireless charging receiver, when
placed on charging pad, like the Koolpuck Charger, produces power for the iPhone 5, 5C, 5S
or iPod Touch (5G) wirelessly.
"The response we've received really doesn't come as a shock because the iQi Mobile is
what every iPhone user with a new iPhone needs for wireless charging. Being only 0.5mm
thick, the product is revolutionary. There is virtually no addition to the streamlined
look or feel of the iPhone once our product is added," said Bavan Palasanthiran, founder
of Fonesalesman and designer of iQi Mobile, "We want to keep the momentum and continue to
expand our offerings of wireless products. The market has shown us there is a huge
interest in wireless charging."
The campaign showed early signs of success by selling out of their Early bird perks.
And to ensure they continue to meet the demands, a new stretch goal of $50k has been set
and all bundle perks will get a free iPhone 5/5S crystal clear case.
Fonesalesman is based in London, UK and is a leading supplier of innovative wireless
charging systems. The company supplies Koolpuck Charger, Koolpad, The Thinnest Qi Wireless
Charging Receiver Card for Samsung's Galaxy S4, as well as their newest product, the iQi

OLD LYME, Conn., Nov. 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Sennheiser unveils two new high-end PC gaming headsets - G4ME(TM) ZERO and G4ME(TM) ONE and announces a unique alliance with one of the world's leading game developers - Io-Interactive. In the perfect match of game creation and gameplay experience, Io-Interactive is using the audio specialist's equipment when developing and recording game sound. This perfect match ensures that gamers using Sennheiser gaming headsets, will get an authentic sound experience that's optimized to be exactly as the developers at Io-Interactive intended.
Io-Interactive, part of the Square Enix group and the creator of blockbuster games such as the Hitman and Kane & Lynch franchises, has used Sennheiser recording equipment and headsets in crafting the audio for several games including Hitman Absolution. Having been impressed with the results, the new alliance sees Io-Interactive committing to use Sennheiser technology for future game development. Frans Galschiot Quaade, Lead Sound Designer, Io-Interactive explains the unique partnership:
"Sennheiser equipment makes our games sound better- both for us and the gamer. Not only are these great gaming headsets for both producing and playing games, but using Sennheiser equipment during development ensures a great and consistent audio experience all the way from the production to end consumer."
Game developers put great effort into creating complex and realistic soundscapes for games. "By collaborating with Io-Interactive and by launching the new PC gaming headsets G4ME(TM) ZERO and G4ME(TM) ONE, Sennheiser takes pride in making sure that gamers get to hear the high-level of acoustic quality and details that the developers intended you to hear," says Christian Ern, Director Product Management, Sennheiser. "The incredible comfort and convenience of our new headsets means that there is virtually nothing between you and the game."
G4ME(TM) ZERO and G4ME(TM) ONE represent a new era in professional gaming headset design. Increased emphasis has been placed on ergonomics and supreme comfort for even long periods of gaming. Meanwhile, top-of-the-line noise cancellation technologies in the built in microphones ensure clear communication during online or multi player gaming.
Naturally, the new PC gaming headsets benefit from Sennheiser's 70 years of experience as a leader in audio and deliver incredible sound quality. The company remains the only gaming headset company in the world to manufacture its own transducers, with the components powering the G4ME(TM) ZERO and G4ME(TM) ONE specifically optimized to deliver an extremely accurate reproduction of gaming audio. And in the heat of the action, smart features such as intuitive volume controls integrated into the ear cup and the ability to instantly mute the mic simply by lifting the mic boom, mean that there are fewer distractions so that you can stay focused on the game experience.
G4ME(TM) ONE - Feel the game, not the headset
Offering exceptionally natural and accurate sound quality, the new G4ME(TM) ONE is built to be the ultimate headset for home gaming. The open design delivers hi-fi sound exactly as the game developers intended, while letting air through to help keep ears cool during hours of gameplay. XXL-sized, plush velvet earpads, a cushioned headband and the lightweight design give the ultimate comfort.
G4ME(TM) ZERO - Supreme comfort for immersive gaming
Designed to be the most comfortable and best sounding closed headset on the market, the G4ME(TM) ZERO features a new earpad design that makes it the perfect choice for immersive gaming. Drawing on Sennheiser's experience in creating professional headsets for aviation, layers of padding and memory foam are shaped to effectively shield the user from external sound and prevent gaming sound from disturbing others. Letting you hear every detail of the game, its still Sennheiser's most quiet gaming headset yet. G4ME(TM) ZERO is also perfect for the gamer on the move with a unique foldable design and supplied hard carry case.
Toshiba's SLC NAND Packs in Error Correction to Remove Burden from Host Processors
Simplifies Migration to Latest NAND Process Technologies; Solves Multiple Design Challenges
IRVINE, Calif., Nov. 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Toshiba America Electronic Components, Inc., (TAEC)*, a committed leader that collaborates with technology companies to create breakthrough designs, wants designers to have the facts when it comes to selecting the appropriate memory for industrial and consumer applications.
Single level cell (SLC) NAND has long been the choice for delivering faster read/write speeds with high reliability (when compared to MLC NAND). Newer NAND generations require increased error correction code (ECC), which, up until now, limited existing applications (such as 1-bit ECC designs) from implementing the latest NAND generation without having to redesign using new NAND controllers with higher ECC. Toshiba's BENAND(TM)([1]) is SLC NAND with embedded ECC - and takes its moniker from a play on the phrase 'built-in ECC.'
In a new video from Toshiba, Brian Kumagai, director of NAND Flash Memory Products for TAEC, explores the attributes of BENAND and highlights applications where the use of embedded ECC can be beneficial. According to Kumagai, "One of the key features of BENAND is that, even though it's performing error correction internally, it offers the user the full range of spare area that can be used for metadata."
ECC requirements for NAND keep increasing, with no end in sight. As seen in the video, BENAND, a versatile, multi-application SLC NAND flash memory with embedded ECC, removes the burden of ECC from the host processor. This not only saves time and simplifies the NAND flash driver software - but it also opens up a world of design possibilities.
The simple interface and high reliability of small capacity SLC NAND allows for it to be widely used in consumer and industrial applications. Package and pin configuration compatibility are assured with general SLC NAND flash, allowing for easy replacement in existing products.
Many industrial applications have a long life expectancy. Toshiba designed BENAND with this in mind. With the ability to replace older generations of discrete SLC NAND, BENAND extends the product life of everything from LCD TVs and set-top boxes to robots and printers - while also potentially reducing BOM costs.

Product density is identified based on the density of memory chip(s) within the Product, not the amount of memory capacity available for data storage by the end user. Consumer-usable capacity will be less due to overhead data areas, formatting, bad blocks, and other constraints, and may also vary based on the host device and application. Maximum read and write speed may vary depending on the host device, read and write conditions, and file size. For purposes of measuring read and write speed in this context, 1 megabyte or MB = 1,000,000 bytes.

Synopsys, Inc. (Nasdaq:SNPS), a global leader providing software, IP and services used to accelerate innovation in chips and electronic systems, today announced the availability of its DesignWare® AEON® Multiple-Time Programmable (MTP) Ultra Low-Power (ULP) Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) IP, optimized for the stringent power and area requirements of wireless and RFID/NFC ICs. The DesignWare AEON MTP ULP NVM IP cuts power consumption by up to 90 percent compared to the previous generation by offering a single-bit read capability, read operation down to 0.9V and peak current under 10uA during erase and programming. Reducing power consumption extends battery life in mobile systems, increases RFID/NFC tag sensitivity and reduces tag size by allowing the use of smaller antennas.
"The power and area reductions in Synopsys' ULP NVM IP enable us to maintain our strong position as a turn-key solution provider in the UHF RFID tag IC market," said Murilo Pessatti, CEO at Chipus. "As an analog IP company competing in the quickly evolving RFID market, we need reliable IP partners, and Synopsys has IP quality and support that we can trust. Based on our previous success using DesignWare NVM IP, we are confident that Synopsys' ULP NVM IP will enable us to continue to build competitive products that meet our customers' power and area demands."
"Offering ULP NVM IP on our high-volume 180 nanometer CMOS process will enable our customers to reduce their overall system costs and meet the ultra low-power requirements of RFID and NFC tags," said Yit Loong Lai, senior vice president at SilTerra. "DesignWare NVM IP aligns well with our process technology to deliver an ideal combination of density, speed, and enduring performance to power future Internet of Things-related applications."
The DesignWare AEON MTP ULP NVM IP offers single-bit read capability to give designers additional flexibility in setting power/timing tradeoffs, which can depend on the peak current and read time requirements. To reduce factory programming test costs, the IP includes a fast programming mode that cuts programming time by 70 percent compared to the previous generation. With up to 100,000 write cycle endurance, RFID and NFC designers using DesignWare AEON MTP ULP NVM IP can have confidence that their products can be reprogrammed many times for extensive reuse. In addition, the IP integrates critical high-voltage generation and distribution circuitry to simplify integration and reduce system cost and area.
"To achieve their systems' power and cost objectives, designers in the competitive wireless and RFID/NFC tag markets need the lowest power and smallest area NVM IP for their ICs," said John Koeter, vice president of marketing for IP and systems at Synopsys. "Synopsys DesignWare NVM IP, the industry's broadest portfolio of CMOS MTP IP, has shipped in well over three billion chips and over 40 process nodes. With the new DesignWare AEON MTP ULP NVM IP, Synopsys is building on its years of NVM technology leadership to deliver proven IP that lowers integration risk and speeds time to market."

Let the Trolling Begin! "Trolls vs. Vikings" Sieges the App Store This January
OSLO, Norway, November 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
Megapop strikes down Viking propaganda with a pro-Troll game trailer
Megapop, a startup studio founded by former Funcom (Age of Conan) and Artplant
(Battlestar Galactica Online) developers, today announced a January 2014 launch for Trolls
vs. Vikings, their debut mobile / PC tower defense game. The puzzling lane-defense game
puts a casual twist on the popular tower defense formula, infusing a blend of humor and an
ever-changing battlefield. See it all in action in the game's official trailer: http://youtu.be/x0Jzz2yEw-4
While set in the ancient world of Norse mythology, Trolls vs. Vikings features a
modern rivalry: Loki (yes, that Loki) promises the greedy Vikings a handsome profit for
attacking the harmless and misunderstood Trolls. To stop the Viking siege on innocent
Troll settlements, players must travel to various Troll villages with an unlikely team of
heroes, recruiting dwarves along the way and discovering the truth behind the Viking
onslaught. With a tale reaching across the lands of Midgard and into the Halls of the Gods
themselves, Trolls vs. Vikings uncovers for once and for all who really started the
trolling!
Unlike most tower defense games, Trolls vs. Vikings takes a different approach to
towers, levels, tactics, player interaction, and boss fights. Players harness immense
Troll power to strategically move towers, buff units, and take on other set-piece
challenges that add fresh new gameplay to each stage. To keep up with the action, players
will be thinking on their feet from start to finish. Just beware of the Valkyries, who
have been fed far too much Julekake, threatening to (sugar) crash on top of you!
About Trolls vs Vikings:
- The CraziestTower Defense Experience, Period - Play as nature-loving
Trolls, who must defend Midgard, their magical homeland, from fierce Viking invaders.
- Extensive Story Mode - Advance across 70 levels spanning Midgard, with each
area providing new environments, challenges, achievements, tactics, bosses and
hilarious new enemies to fight. Plus, each difficulty mode generates different stages!
- It's Got It All - Master 20 Troll types, each with their own strengths and
weaknesses to battle over 25 different types of Vikings of ranged and close-combat
masteries, as well as divine boss fights against Thor, Odin, and Loki himself!
- Tower Defense... Evolved - Movable towers i.e. the big hulking Trolls, massive
set pieces, strategic resource gathering, dynamic in-game tile system, and many other
small and large tweaks to the beloved gameplay formula.
- Multiplayer Campaign COMING SOON! - Social features will mark a first for the
genre with both real-time and turn-based multiplayer matches. Soon, loop in friends
with the seamless social sharing and comparing system, or challenge anonymous Troll
activists in both live and asynchronous gameplay.
- Labor of Love - Perhaps the most important "feature" of all... and it's not
even a feature. The Megapop team shares a deep reverence for the tower defense genre;
their top priority is to make a game they personally love to play!
Enter the wacky and wonderful world of the Trolls, and help them fend off the vicious
Viking horde on the App Store January 2014! To learn more about Trolls vs. Vikings:

Apache CloudStack Matures With First Commercial Support Offering
LONDON, November 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
ShapeBlue, the leading independent global CloudStack integrator, today announced that
it will be the first to offer commercial support of Apache CloudStack.
ShapeBlue will offer professional, 24x7x365, enterprise grade support for IaaS
infrastructures built on Apache CloudStack. The service will offer SLAs and is provided by
an organisation that is a centre of excellence in the design and deployment of CloudStack
infrastructures.
Giles Sirett, ShapeBlue CEO, explained: "For 12 months we've had increasing demand for
formalised CloudStack support services. We support many customers but to date have not
offered an SLA-based model. As Apache CloudStack adoption increases we see demand for a
service that offers expert support - our customers want the benefits of open source, but
also professional, responsive support as with a traditional vendor product."
"We can provide this because of the deep knowledge and expertise we have from building
some of the world's largest CloudStack infrastructures, and also our capabilities with
associated network, storage and compute technologies. We've developed a global support
capability in order to offer the high service levels our customers demand. We have piloted
the service with a number of customers and received overwhelmingly positive feedback."
Regarding ShapeBlue's involvement with the Apache CloudStack project, Sirett
commented:
"We will be greatly increasing our contribution to the Apache project, with the
creation of a dedicated CloudStack Software Engineering Team. Key to us is contributing
all of our work back into the project. At this stage, we have no plans to offer a
commercial distribution as we feel that this undermines the true value of open source
software like CloudStack. Other open source projects suffer from fragmentation by
participant vendors and we do not wish this to happen with Apache CloudStack."
The core support service will offer heterogeneous support for cloud infrastructures,
guaranteed response times of 1 hour for high priority incidents, 24x7x365 coverage and a
product patching service. Furthermore, a unique "Instant Guru" service will allow
customers to discuss architecture questions and design changes using web-chat, outside of
the formalised support structure.
Sirett concluded: "That demand has been created for this service demonstrates the
momentum that Apache CloudStack is gaining. We work hard to make sure that we offer the
highest levels of support, delivered by the best people. We are excited to be first in the
market with this service."

Qualcomm Brings Leading Mobile DNA to Internet Processors to Enable Advanced Network Platforms
Qualcomm Pairs Dual-Core Krait Application Processor with New Packet Processor Engine to Establish Next-Generation of Smart Networks
NEW YORK, Nov. 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ: QCOM) today announced that its subsidiary, Qualcomm Atheros, Inc., introduced the Qualcomm Internet Processor (IPQ) product line to transform networking devices like home gateways, routers and media servers into "Smarthome" platforms. With unmatched multi-tasking performance and low power, IPQ-enabled networks can readily support the next generation of IP-based content, applications, systems and things, known as the Internet of Everything, in homes and businesses.
"Just as Qualcomm helped propel the smartphone experience and ecosystem, we are now employing the company's mobile DNA to enable the Smarthome as a platform to deliver an advanced class of content, applications and services that can be enjoyed throughout the home. Qualcomm is bringing together its mobile and networking expertise in the Internet Processor to extend its portfolio and enable new capabilities for network platforms," said Amir Faintuch, president, Qualcomm Atheros. "With this new class of high-performance, energy-efficient and agile processors for home gateways and enterprise access points, Qualcomm is again demonstrating its ability and commitment to elevate consumer experiences by driving innovation at the edge of the network."
Pairing of Dual-Core Krait and Packet Processor Engine for Optimized Performance
The IPQ enables home network equipment to do more than deliver broadband connections. It will enable service providers to expand revenue opportunities by delivering new content, applications and services such as security and surveillance, and also allows retail original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to provide differentiated, value-add capabilities in premium networking products, such as home automation and control, and personal cloud. Qualcomm's "Smarthome" platform combines Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.'s dual-core 1.4 GHz Krait central processing unit (CPU), to manage advanced functions such as complex and demanding Internet-based applications and services, with Qualcomm Atheros' new dual-core 730 MHz Packet Processor Engine, to offload network traffic, supporting up to 5 Gbps of aggregate capacity across LTE, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, HomePlug(TM) powerline, hybrid wired/wireless, and Ethernet.
In addition, the platform offers Qualcomm security, encryption, Trustzone(TM) and secure boot to support advanced services, such as home and health monitoring, requiring best-in-class privacy and authentication. The unique pairing of Krait with the Packet Processor Engine gives the IPQ an unprecedented level of processing power, flexibility and agility to enable network platforms that support the growing number of devices and complexity of applications.
Lower Power, Greater Performance per Watt
Currently home networking equipment consumes significant levels of power, which impacts the environment and consumer wallets. The IPQ platform brings new levels of power efficiency for the "always on, always connected" home and will help reduce the cost of network operations in enterprise access points. Based on Qualcomm's low-power mobile architecture, the 28 nm IPQ offers up to 70 percent greater performance-per-watt than the nearest competitor. The IPQ optimizes energy consumption by dynamically scaling system operation to adjust to network demands, whereas most network processors function only in on or off modes, with continuous power used in always-on gateways.
Flexible, Scalable Architecture
The truly smart home is going to require a number of network configurations to address existing and future applications and devices. For product developers, the IPQ provides a flexible architecture and numerous media and networking interfaces to enable a full range of connected home products with different feature sets and use cases. Additionally, the IPQ's modular hardware and software design featuring a PHY-agnostic processor enables customers to re-use hardware designs and software investments across DSL, cable and fiber access products. The IPQ supports major interfaces, such as PCIe, USB 3.0, SATA3, SDIO, and Gigabit Ethernet, to provide a broad range of products and minimize platform development investment and time across product lines.
The first two solutions in the IPQ product line, the IPQ8062 and IPQ8064 for retail routers and home media servers, are currently in production and will be available in commercial products in the first half of 2014. IPQ-based gateways and enterprise access points are expected by mid-2014.
Industry Support for Qualcomm's Internet Processor Technology
Aruba, Inc.: "Much like the increasing demands on residential networks, the trend to 'bring-your-own-device' into offices and the ubiquity of wireless voice and video is dictating new levels of performance, resiliency and scalability for enterprise networks. Bringing additional processing power into the network--while continuing to meet the stringent power requirements of enterprise environments--aligns with our strategy to help customers implement next-generation wireless networks as rapidly and efficiently as possible," said Keerti Melkote, chief technology officer, Aruba Networks.
NETGEAR, Inc.: "NETGEAR's goal is to deliver the ultimate service platform that helps broadband operators maintain adequate network bandwidth while supporting new revenue-generating services. Rather than responding to a shift in the industry, Qualcomm's innovative approach is to drive the transformation of the home network into a powerful and intelligent platform," said Michael Clegg, senior vice president and general manager for service provider business at NETGEAR.

Canara Launches Subscription Based Branch Circuit Monitoring
Innovative solution provides low cost entry point and extends existing outsourced UPS, Battery, Generator monitoring to the nervous system of the data center
SAN RAFAEL, Calif. and LONDON, Nov. 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- (DatacenterDynamics) -- Canara, a provider of monitoring, management and predictive analytics solutions for critical backup power systems, today announced that the company has officially launched a comprehensive, proprietary Branch Circuit Monitoring (BCM) solution that includes all required hardware, software, and services. The solution allows for existing panels to be retrofitted in under an hour or select industry-standard panels can be pre-integrated with Canara BCM and ship as a complete solution. The BCM hardware was designed with top-tier datacenter operator involvement and resulted in a simplified system with modular collector strips and removable split-core current transducers plus an in-panel aggregator. In addition to the innovative BCM hardware, which allows for rapid retrofit or build, the suite includes a feature rich and secure cloud-based monitoring and analytics offering that operators can use to analyze and trend collected data to quickly identify potential problems, locate stranded power or even identify owners of circuits requiring increased capacity. The Canara cloud-based software is backed by Canara's well-known 24x7 Monitoring Operations Center and service that provides both summary and detailed reporting through data aggregation and roll up, which is especially important when managing dozens or hundreds or thousands of panels.
"Cologix delivers highly efficient mission critical infrastructure with intimate and local customer support for our clients. We continue to make industry-leading investments in our capabilities and have long desired real time branch circuit monitoring at an appropriate cost to deliver the proactive visibility our customers want around their power consumption. With Canara BCM, we are able to achieve that and more," said Val Milshtein, VP of Technology for Cologix. "This complete solution provides us with a robust package of hardware, prognostic software and support from subject matter experts at a highly compelling price point and commercial structure. The days of manual clamping, expensive ineffective solutions and lack of visibility are over."

These satellites demonstrate the ability to rapidly access space by using standard interfaces on a standard spacecraft bus. Payloads are designed to be compatible with the spacecraft bus, resulting in lower spacecraft non-recurring costs, shorter acquisition timelines, decreased spacecraft build costs, and increased spaceflight opportunities.
"Standard interfaces allowed rapid satellite integration and test, and for the spacecraft bus to be built in 47 days independently of the payloads," said Ball Aerospace President Rob Strain. "In less than a year, STPSat-3 was an integrated, fully-tested and ready-to-ship satellite with five payloads and a de-orbit module."
Ball Aerospace has integrated the standard spacecraft bus used on STPSat-2 and STPSat-3 into its Ball Configurable Platform (BCP) product line to offer customers more affordable and responsive space missions.
One of the instruments onboard the satellite, the Total Solar Irradiance (TSI) Calibration Transfer Experiment (TCTE) is a sensor hosted for NOAA and NASA. The sensor, built by CU-Boulder's Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics will provide for continual calibration of the sun's total energy input to the Earth, which affects Earth's atmosphere and weather patterns.
"With very minor modifications and close collaboration with partners, the TCTE instrument was adapted for Ball's flexible STPSat-3 spacecraft to provide critical weather information for the nation," added Strain. "STPSat-3 was the perfect option to enable a quick ride to space and mitigated a possible total solar irradiance gap after the precursory TSI-measuring instrument experienced a launch failure in 2011."
STPSat-3 is managed by the U.S. Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center, Space Development & Test Directorate at Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico as part of the Space Test Program, Standard Interface Vehicle (STP-SIV) program.
The ORS-3 Mission, also known as the Enabler Mission, will demonstrate launch and range improvements to include: automated vehicle trajectory targeting, range safety planning, and flight termination; employ a commercial-like procurement with FAA licensing of a Minotaur 1; and launch the Air Force's Space Test Program Satellite-3 and 28 cubesats on an Integrated Payload Stack. These enablers not only focus on the ability to execute a rapid call up mission, they automate engineering tasks that once took months and reduce those timelines to days and/or hours resulting in decreased mission costs.
Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp. supports critical missions for national agencies such as the Department of Defense, NASA, NOAA and other U.S. government and commercial entities. The company develops and manufactures spacecraft, advanced instruments and sensors, components, data exploitation systems and RF solutions for strategic, tactical and scientific applications.
