Invisible Minicomputer Turns TV Into Multimedia Jukebox
ROTTERDAM, Netherlands, April 24, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
New Stealth Nighthawk F-117A gives consumers total freedom
Dutch company Anaar developed a new minicomputer which makes it possible to play all
kinds of files, videos and music from the PC, tablet, smartphone or any other device
wireless on the television. The Stealth Nighthawk F-117A turns the TV into a multimedia
jukebox that opens up unlimited ways to play films and music.
The Stealth Nighthawk F-117A works almost the same as the famous Raspberry Pi
minicomputer and his half its size. However, the developers gave the device a nicer
design, which makes it look like a USB stick. By plugging it into the television, people
can stream all files from servers, hard disks and other devices to the screen and view it
by their TV remote control. Because it uses XBMC software an open platform is created,
that can play all kinds of files, without being dependent on Apple or Google. The software
will scan all media and create a personalized library. There are even playlist and
slideshow functions, a weather forecast feature and many audio visualizations.
By using Linux software, the television transforms into a real PC, which can be used
for browsing, save or open files. "This minicomputer gives users absolute freedom in
deciding for themselves what they want to play on their devices," managing director James
Ibrahim of Anaar says.
The name of the minicomputer refers to the American jets which are invisible to radar.
"When you plug it at the backside of your television, you can't see it anymore, just like
the real F-117A," Ibrahim explains.
The mini-computer can be taken and plugged-in everywhere, shares media through WiFi
and is plugged-in to the television through the HDMI- and USB-gate. Because it needs just
a little electricity, sticking it in the USB-gate of the TV gives it sufficient power.
The creative Rotterdam IT company wants to take the Stealth Nighthawk F-117A to
production this summer. Therefore it started a crowdfunding campaign on popular website
Indiegogo. Ibrahim needs 40,000 dollar to start, he expects. All investors receive a
Stealth Nighthawk F-117A with all accessories in return.

Wavien, Inc. Introduces LED Based Fiber Optic Illumination Platform for Architectural and Signage Applications
Recycling Light Technology (RLT(TM)) increases brightness at low-cost
VALENCIA, Calif., April 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Wavien, Inc. has introduced a proprietary Recycling Light Technology (RLT), LED based illumination platform suitable for architectural and signage applications at the Light Fair in Philadelphia from April 22 to April 25, 2013. The architectural illumination system is being promoted by Ushio America at Booth # 2901, and the signage illumination system will be demonstrated by appointment only. Please come by the Ushio booth or contact Harry Farrar at Cell (818)716-7522, Email for an appointment.
RLT technology significantly increases, at a low cost, the brightness available to large core, single fibers made by 3M and very flexible, small diameter fiber bundles made by Schott. Both of these fiber optics are designed for side-emitting applications suitable for replacing neon tubes without glass blowing and breakages, with the long, 50,000-hour, lifetime of LEDs. Wavien is actively looking to license this enabling technology for architectural and signage illumination applications.
Wavien's RTL technology has produced brightness improvements of up to 2.5 times using white LEDs by Cree, and is also suitable for use with multi-colored LED packages, e.g. a 4-chip package with red, green, blue, and white LEDs. Using such colored LED package and simple drive electronics with digital control, multiple colors and sequences can be programmed to achieve the desired lighting effects.
"Wavien's RLT technology increases light output up to 2.5 times for many applications with a compact, low-cost RLT reflector. The system recycles high angle light generated by LEDs, which would otherwise be wasted in conventional illumination systems, and converts it into useable output as a brighter beam. The usable LED light output is significantly boosted by the RLT reflector with no additional LED input power required and no change in LED lifetime," stated Dr. Kenneth Li, President and CEO of Wavien, Inc., who is also the inventor of the RLT technology. "With the ability to use multi-colored LED packages, an entire new line of illumination products for architectural and signage applications can be made possible with RLT technology."
About Wavien, Inc.
Wavien, based in Valencia, California, is a technology licensing company developing long-life, advanced high-performance light source solutions including arc lamps, LEDs, lasers, laser/phosphor hybrids, and plasma lamps, for the next generation of projection, consumer, and medical lighting industries. Wavien continues to make major advancements in the LED illumination market with its RLT technology.

The movie is a 3D computer-graphics adventure comedy about a teenage girl, who is transported to a secret universe, where there is an ongoing battle between the forces of good, who keep the natural world alive, and the forces of evil, who wish to destroy it. The film stars Beyonce Knowles, Amanda Seyfried, Josh Hutcherson, Colin Farrell, and Pitbull.
In an effort to inspire kids to learn about preserving the environment, LG Electronics and PTO Today are asking youth to join Team ENERGY STAR and with help from the heroic team from EPIC, take a pledge to save energy at home. After signing up and taking the EPIC Pledge, kids are encouraged to share their EPIC energy-saving story for a chance to win prizes from LG Electronics and Fox.
"PTO Today is proud to partner with Team ENERGY STAR in an effort to bring families together to learn what we can all do to help to make our planet a better place to live - and that learning starts both at home and at school," says PTO Today founder Tim Sullivan. "Go Green Night is an easy way for kids and parents to connect with their school community about this important issue in a fun and engaging way."
"Team ENERGY STAR continues to be a great way to involve young people in two critical issues of our time - saving energy and protecting the climate," said Jill Vohr, Director of Marketing, EPA's ENERGY STAR Labeling Branch. "Finding fun ways to engage and educate kids about saving energy will make a big difference for families today and tomorrow."
James Fishler, senior vice president, marketing, LG Electronics USA, said, "As a company committed to protecting the environment and educating consumers about energy efficiency, LG is thrilled to join Team ENERGY STAR for a second year and excited to provide kids who share their EPIC energy saving stories a chance to win cool LG products like smartphones, TVs and computer monitors."
Kids can join Team ENERGY STAR by visiting energystar.gov/team where they will get easy-to-download educational and interactive materials, such as a comprehensive Action Kit, the ENERGY STAR Home Check-Up, an EPIC activity booklet, and a Professor Bomba Goggles-Making Kit. Participants are also encouraged to come back and share their stories about protecting the environment by saving energy where they will be showcased on energystar.gov/changetheworld and throughout social media.
The first 200 families to submit a story to Team ENERGY STAR will receive two tickets each to EPIC, courtesy of 20th( )Century Fox. Winning submissions will win prizes provided by LG Electronics, including ENERGY STAR certified HDTVs and computer monitors, as well as docking stations, smart phones and feature phones. Top winners also will be featured on LG's billboard in New York's Times Square.
Team ENERGY STAR is part of the multi-year, EPA campaign, Change the World, Start with ENERGY STAR, developed to engage Americans of all ages in saving energy, money and protecting the environment with ENERGY STAR. If every American household took part in the Change the World, Start with ENERGY STAR Pledge, we would: Save more than 126 billion kWh/yr of electricity, save $18 billion in annual energy costs, and prevent greenhouse gases equivalent to the emissions from 20 million cars.

Sharp LED Lighting is Better LED Lighting
Sharp's new digital lighting products meet the most exacting standards and provide a high degree of customization. With a superior Color Rendering Index (CRI) and exceptional fixture to fixture consistency, Sharp LED lighting products produce rich, saturated colors across the spectrum to deliver the true "color of life."
Built with the industry's best LED and driver components, Sharp LED lighting products operate at high efficiency levels, combined with high levels of color saturation, yielding a CRI well above 95 for lamps and above 85 for the linear products. Telecommunications Industry Embraces VTech's Connect to Cell Trademarked Phrase
Shared Language to Help Consumers Understand Bluetooth Connectivity Across Brands
BEAVERTON, Ore., April 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --The telecommunications industry, manufacturers and retailers will begin using VTech(®) Communications' trademarked Connect to Cell phrase to support common consumer understanding of cellphone syncing capabilities with home phones. Working with retail partners, VTech Communications, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of VTech Holdings Ltd. (HKSE: 303) agreed to sub-license the trademarked descriptor to other manufacturers in support of a unified industry language.
VTech first used Connect to Cell in 2010 to describe the Bluetooth syncing capabilities of select home phone systems to make and receive calls from either a paired cellphone or traditional phone. A leading national retailer proposed standardizing the terminology for easier public understanding, as multiple manufacturers use Bluetooth technology under different names resulting in confusing descriptions for consumers. There are about 20 different Connect to Cell models sold in the marketplace, six models from VTech.
The trademarked phrase will be available to interested telecommunications brands, upon the execution of a royalty-free license agreement with VTech. Consumers will begin seeing Connect to Cell on other manufacturers' new phone models this spring. Retailers also will start to use this trademarked phrase on store signage, point-of-purchase displays and supporting materials. VTech products and packaging already use the Connect to Cell phrase.
"New technology can be difficult to understand when there are multiple terms in the marketplace," said Nicholas Delany, president of VTech Communications, Inc. "We are offering Connect to Cell as a standard term to help customers understand this helpful connectivity feature across the multiple brands. As the reliance on mobile phones continues to increase, we expect Connect to Cell to become an increasingly important tool to improve the home communications experience."
Approximately 1.3 million phones with Connect to Cell technology were sold in 2012, about 8 percent of all cordless phone sales. Landline phone service is not required to benefit from the technology, which can deliver better sound quality and fewer dropped calls by placing the connected mobile phone in an area of the home with strong cellular coverage. The feature also is appreciated by busy consumers who can answer from any connected phone throughout the house, ending the rush between rooms when the cellphone rings.
The technology continues to be enhanced with simple pairing and multiple compatible product combinations. For more information about Connect to Cell and VTech, visit http://www.vtechphones.com.

SAN JOSE, Calif., April 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --RAID-5 is a well-proven technique for creating hard disk arrays that can withstand the failure of a single disk drive with no data loss. But applying the same RAID-5 concepts to SSD arrays can have the opposite effect and contribute to decreased data reliability, according to Skyera Inc., founded by an executive and engineering team with unsurpassed backgrounds in the NAND flash, solid-state, storage and networking arenas.
Skyera's warning about the deficiencies of RAID-5 in SSD arrays has been validated by a new study from researchers at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. That study, Stochastic Analysis on RAID Reliability for Solid-State Drives, found that RAID-5 provides insufficient data protection and error correction to prevent data loss on SSD arrays as the flash media ages and error rates increase. In fact, the study suggest that RAID-5 reduces the reliability of SSD arrays as the constant updates of parity information increase the write cycles and cause the flash SSD to wear out prematurely.
According to the study, "The effectiveness of RAID in SSDs remains debatable as parity updates aggravate the wearing and bit error rates of SSDs. In particular, an open problem is how different parity distributions over multiple devices, such as the even distribution suggested by conventional wisdom, or uneven distributions proposed in recent RAID schemes for SSDs, may influence the reliability of an SSD RAID array."
The solution, according the report, is a higher level of error correction or a better fault-tolerant scheme such as RAID-6. But implementing RAID-6 on an SSD array presents its own set of problems, specifically the higher write requirements for double parity, consuming valuable P/E cycles and shortening the life of the flash modules.
Skyera has developed a better solution to the RAID-5 dilemma with a RAID algorithm designed specifically for solid-state storage arrays that offers better data protection than RAID-6 with three times fewer writes to extend the life of flash storage. RAID-SE is another piece of Skyera's SEOS(TM) solid-state operating system that combines hardware, storage and data management into a unified solution to provide the best overall performance, cost and power consumption attributes.
The skyHawk flash controller also employs adaptive read-write techniques which reduce flash substrate degradation, controller-based compression which can reduce writes to the flash modules, and advanced wear-levelling which minimizes the amount of flash activity required during writes. The integration of the Skyera technology produces 100x Life Amplification for the flash media, resulting in an industry leading 5-year life span that surpasses enterprise standards for reliability and durability.
"Skyera engineers were well aware of the limitations of RAID-5 from the outset so designing a better RAID solution for solid-state storage without the legacy baggage of HDD RAID algorithms was a key goal from the beginning," said Dr. Radoslav Danilak, Skyera CEO. "RAID-SE is an engineering triumph with double parity data protection that actually improves the durability of the flash media. Article One Partners works with hundreds of researchers worldwide, paying millions of dollars to its active community. Before implementing the Tipalti solution, Article One Partners' payment process became more time consuming and complex as the company grew, signaling the need for an efficient method to make mass payments on a global scale, comply with local tax and reporting regulations worldwide and streamline payment-related paperwork.
With Tipalti, Article One Partners foundan SaaS solution that makes mass payments quick and easy. The company was able to deploy Tipalti's flexible, automated payment engine by embedding a single line of code on the Article One Partners website, which provides a branded page where payees can register and choose their preferred payment method.
When Article One Partners uploads payment files, Tipalti automatically verifies payee information, performs cross-checks against government blacklists and helps ensure compliance with local payment regulations. Tipalti streamlines and automates the entire payment process - from payee registration through fund disbursement and tax compliance.
Working with Tipalti has also enabled Article One Partners to scale operations rapidly and expand worldwide. Now the company can pay researchers in their preferred methods and currencies and improve the crowdsourced team's satisfaction by reducing their paperwork burden. This has allowed Article One Partners to efficiently partner with researchers worldwide.
"We're extremely happy with Tipalti's service because it has significantly streamlined the payment process, and it has made us much more scalable," said Eric Baer, Vice President, Product and Technology at Article One Partners. "Now we can expand and scale operations more quickly, which helps us achieve our growth goals."

Complete Development Tools Platform Further Simplifies MCU Design Process
Atmel Launches Complete Hardware, Tools, Software and App Store Platform To Enable Embedded Designers to Quickly Bring MCU Designs to Market
SAN JOSE, Calif., April 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- DESIGN WEST -- Atmel( )Corporation (NASDAQ: ATML), a leader in microcontroller (MCU) and touch technology solutions, today announced it has further simplified the MCU design process with the launch of its integrated development tools platform, a complete hardware and software platform specifically designed to support Atmel(®) MCUs and its recently shipping ARM(®) Cortex((TM))-M4-based SAM4L family.
As software design continues to become more complex in today's embedded hardware designs, and is increasingly used to differentiate end-customer products, complete solutions that provide designers with all the necessary tools and embedded software becomes more critical. Even more, as design cycles continue to be shortened, complete tool platforms that are fully integrated and seamless to use becomes more vital--and MCU vendors must think beyond the chip. With Atmel's tools platform, design engineers can quickly evaluate Atmel MCUs and bring their products quickly to market.
Specifically tailored to allow developers to take advantage of Atmel's MCU features, including the recently shipping SAM4L ARM(®) Cortex(®)-M4-based family, the new platform consists of hardware and development tools, embedded software and an embedded 'app' store:
-- Atmel Xplained Pro
-- Atmel Studio 6
-- Atmel Software Framework
-- Atmel Gallery
With Atmel's Xplained Pro evaluation kit, designers have an easy-to-use, flexible and low-cost out-of-the-box board that includes an Atmel MCU, embedded debugger, and connectors for extension boards. When designers plug the Xplained board into their system, they can pull-up Atmel Studio 6 and Atmel Software Framework with over 2,000 ready-to-run project examples. Atmel Gallery, which is fully integrated into Studio 6, allows embedded designers to pull up a comprehensive development App Store to download third party extensions and plug-ins for their projects. To view a demonstration, click here.
"Atmel continues to think beyond the chip and is committed to providing customers with a fully integrated development platform that allows embedded designers to meet the increasingly complex challenges of their designs," said Joerg Bertholdt, Director of Marketing, MCU Tools and Software, Atmel Corporation. "Atmel's new tools platform provides designers the complete hardware and software solution for their MCU development."
Atmel Corporation (Nasdaq: ATML) is a worldwide leader in the design and manufacture of microcontrollers, capacitive touch solutions, advanced logic, mixed-signal, nonvolatile memory and radio frequency (RF) components. Leveraging one of the industry's broadest intellectual property (IP) technology portfolios, Atmel is able to provide the electronics industry with complete system solutions focused on industrial, consumer, communications, computing and automotive markets.
Philips Previews SpaceWise: Mesh-Networked Wireless Controls for Open Plan Offices
Creating a "replace-in-place" integrated LED system; SpaceWise eliminates need for additional wiring and controls by embedding intelligence in the luminaire
PHILADELPHIA, April 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- As energy-efficiency, digital technology and software converge, Philips continues to prove its leadership in LED lighting by previewing the next innovation for the office with SpaceWise technology at the Philips booth #1401 during LIGHTFAIR International. Designed for large, open plan office spaces, SpaceWise is integrated with the Philips DuaLED luminaires, embedding wireless controls in each fixture to provide presence detection and daylight harvesting, allowing them to be automated. Because each fixture has its own intelligence, yet acts as part of a mesh network, the system eliminates the need for re-wiring or additional building controls, as well as the need for human intervention with the lighting system.
Lighting constitutes 30-35 percent of total energy load in commercial buildings. There are over 4.9 billion non-residential buildings in the US and over 72 billion square feet of commercial space, of which 19 percent are offices. Private offices have long been served by room-based occupancy sensors, but the cost and complexity for new controls design and wiring has been a primary barrier to adoption. Open plan offices are especially difficult to re-wire for controls due to pre-existing building zones and circuits. With two- thirds of today's office space being open plan, SpaceWise becomes a breakthrough technology to achieve deep energy efficiency where it previously wasn't possible.
Because the intelligence has been on-boarded in the Philips DuaLED luminaire, SpaceWise technology makes installation easy, accelerating adoption by making it simple enough to be suitable for both retrofit or new design applications. The SpaceWise system is not tied to pre-existing zones and functions as a stand-alone system with application appropriate granular dimming that is occupant-friendly. In addition to the energy savings inherent to Philip LED luminaires, using layered advanced lighting controls can increase energy savings by 20-30 percent for a cumulative savings of 50-75 percent.
Here's how it works:
-- Install a Philips DuaLED with SpaceWise as a 1-for-1 replacement in
typical open plan offices.
-- Users can set high, medium, or low light output per group of luminaires.
-- When the first occupant enters, the lighting zone illuminates to a
background level.
-- As each occupant arrives at their workstation, fixtures in the immediate
area turn up to full brightness.
-- When people leave their workstations, the fixtures gently dim to
background level.
-- Daylight harvesting occurs automatically, dimming if there is ambient
light from windows or other sources, saving even more energy.
-- The lighting zone turns off after the last person leaves automatically.
"The need for this type of technology is acute when you consider that in the US alone over 85 percent of buildings were built before 1984 and have not undergone a lighting upgrade--and of those that have, only about one percent use occupancy sensors, meaning lights are on all day," said Bruno Biasiotta, president and CEO of Philips Lighting Americas. "With SpaceWise technology and intelligent luminares, we can make adoption of these energy saving LED systems easier and more intuitive, helping organizations take advantage of next generation technologies to meet sustainability and energy goals."
With SpaceWise, Philips takes LED efficiency to new levels by providing intelligence and dimming capabilities tuned to specific applications needs in an LED luminaire for advanced performance and deeper energy savings. SpaceWise will be available in Q4 of this year and future capabilities in development include real-time user insights, as well as enhanced advisory services like demand response and virtual commissioning.

WD® Shipping World's First 5 mm 2.5-Inch Hard Drive
First in a Family of High-performance and Slim Drives for Ultra-portable Devices Feature Innovative Mechanical Designs and Solid State Hybrid Drive Technology
IRVINE, Calif., April 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- WD(®), a Western Digital (NASDAQ: WDC) company and world leader in storage and connected-life products, today announced it is shipping the world's first ultra-slim 2.5-inch, 5 mm hard drives and solid state hybrid drives (SSHD), which are designed for integration into the slimmest devices and space-constrained computing environments. With 500 GB of storage capacity and models with high performance-enabling solid state hybrid drive technology, this slim product line helps to address the tradeoffs system designers often make between capacity, physical size and performance.
"With the launch of our new WD Blue(TM) 5 mm ultra slim hard drives and our WD Black(TM) SSHD products, currently shipping to OEMs, WD is delivering to our customers a variety of solutions that maximize storage capacity and volumetric efficiency, as well as performance and system responsiveness, for consumers," said Matt Rutledge, vice president of WD's client computing business unit. "Our engineering team took a clean-sheet approach with 5 mm to deliver an ultra-thin hard drive that enables a world of possibilities and applications for mobile computing and beyond."
WD designed the new WD Blue and WD Black 5 mm drives to enable new levels of device portability. The new drives are aimed to increase internal storage capacity while enabling it to fit into smaller device slots. In addition, the slimmer and more portable the device, the more vulnerable the hard drive is to user-induced stress. To battle this, WD has designed key enablers to the 5 mm form factor:
Ultra-slim Form Factor - 5 mm height with compact connector offers system designers a greater degree of chassis design freedom. This ultra-slim form factor reduces weight by up to 36 percent compared with a standard 9.5 mm drive.
Best-in-class Acoustics and Shock - WD's best-in-class acoustics use technologies that reduce noise when the drive is active or idle. The WD Blue and WD Black 5 mm drives deliver unprecedented operation and non-operation shock specifications with 400 G and 1000G, respectively.
Edge Card Technology - WD designed the connector and board utilizing cell phone miniaturization technology to maximize the mechanical sway space in the hard drive and ensure shock performance.
Edge Card Connector - WD Blue 5 mm hard drives also feature the first application of a new small form factor SFF-8784 edge connector. This new connector receives power from and interfaces with the host I/O bus via the SATA interface connector SFF-8784.
StableTrac(TM) - The motor shaft is secured at both ends to reduce system-induced vibration and stabilize platters for accurate tracking during read and write operations which enables consistently higher performance.
Dual Stage Actuator - Leading-edge enterprise dual stage actuators provide two actuators that improve positional accuracy over the data track(s). The primary actuator provides coarse displacement using conventional electromagnetic actuator principles. The secondary actuator uses piezoelectric motion to fine tune the head positioning to a higher degree of accuracy.

NTT Com will leverage this highly reliable, scalable, state-of-the-art facility to further grow its worldwide data center services, which are now marketed under the newly launched Nexcenter(TM) brand.
Corporate needs for cloud services, ICT outsourcing, disaster recovery and other ICT-related services have been rapidly growing due to the needs for ICT environment optimization and planning for major natural disasters. NTT Com operates data centers in more than 140 locations, amounting to a total server room floor area of over 170,000 square meters. Under its newly launched Nexcenter(TM) brand, NTT Com is striving to offer enhanced data center services of even higher quality than before. Tokyo No.6 Data Center is the first of several major NTT Com data centers that will combine globally standardized service agreements, service level agreements (SLA) and customer portals with special cost-reducing features, such as advanced air conditioning systems and virtual-network-based global seamless services, including hybrid clouds.
- Leading features of Tokyo No.6 Data Center follow.
-- Accessible, cost-performance urban data center
NTT Com's new data center is just seven minutes on foot from the centrally located JR loop train line, making it highly accessible even during emergencies. The building's energy- and space-efficient design features a large rotary UPS. Racks handle equipment up to 1.5 times larger than the conventional racks, helping to lower user costs by as much as the half compared to previous rates.
-- Robust anti-earthquake designs
Tokyo No.6 Data Center's seismic isolation structure can reduce the impact of earthquakes by at most 80%. Resistance is rated to withstand forces as powerful as those generated by the unprecedented Great East Japan Earthquake of 2011. An extra-strong ground helps to prevent liquefaction, and the building foundation is 1.4m higher than ground level to avoid flooding. Redundant major power supply and air conditioning systems strengthen reliability, and the facility has a direct connection to a large aseismic cable tunnel that protects lead-in cables from damage by earthquakes or drilling.
-- Top-level power usage effectiveness
Power usage effectiveness (PUE) is designed to rated at 1.2, the highest level among data centers in Japan. The facility features energy-efficient water-cooled air conditioning, low-power-loss rotary UPS, reduced-power air conditioning system through use of cooler outdoor air and efficient air-flow management to prevent the circulation of server-generated heat.
-- Flexibly customizable equipment
Equipment specifications for electric power, air conditioning, security can be flexibly customized to meet a customer's specific needs and requests, such as redundant routes for internal power supply and communication systems by using multi-free shafts in a colocation room, additional local air conditioning equipment and security gates that allow only one person at a time.
-- Annex office building
A 2,000 square meters annex office building for customers is available in Tokyo No.6 Data Center. Office-rack connection and uninterruptible power sources are available for business continuity planning and more convenient monitoring and maintenance of customer systems.
-- Scalable, high-quality network environment
The new data center uses NTT Com's Arcstar Universal One(TM) enterprise network service and other global network services for connectivity with global data centers and virtual networks to enable flexible establishment and operation of system expansion, system distribution and disaster-recovery sites.
Going forward, NTT Com will continue to offer leading-edge data center services, now under the Nexcenter(TM) brand, to help customers grow their businesses.

Trade-24.com Reports: Yen vs. Dollar - Gold Losing Value Fast
PARIS, April 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
The forex market [http://www.trade-24.com ] analysts of Trade-24 have recently spotted
two major trends that have been dominating the markets. The first is the collapse of the
yen. Most of the trading in the yen occurs against the USD, but JPY crosses are also
active. Pairs like the EUR/JPY, AUD/JPY, NZD/JPY and others have surged in recent months.
The AUD/JPY skyrocketed more than 12% since the beginning of the year.
The USD/JPY has been the center of attention, exploding from the low 80's to hit near
100 last week. Although the pair has already surged more than 20%, Trade-24 analysts
forecast that the pair will extend gains to hit 110 this year, making it one of the best
opportunities this year.
Trade-24 analysts [https://www.facebook.com/trade24 ] explain the reasons to be
USD/JPY bullish (or JPY bearish): For one, the announcement of the Bank of Japan that it
would flood the market with 7 trillion yen ($73 billion) every month, buying Japanese
government bonds and other assets in Japan will hurt the yen. For another, the buying of
Japanese government bonds will diminish the yield on these bonds, prompting Japanese
investors to start buying foreign assets in order to look for higher yields. This will
increase demand for foreign currencies by Japanese investors, driving the yen even lower
in next months.
The Japanese prime minister is backing the actions of the bank of Japan, and this is
another reason indicating the JPY will plummet further this year.
Trade-24 forex trading [http://www.trade24partners.com ] analysts forecast superior
returns from long positions on currencies that have higher interest rates, like the AUD
and the NZD, against the JPY that is being printed by the BOJ. They say the USD/JPY will
also benefit from the quantitative easing monetary policy of the Bank of Japan.
Analysts are forecasting the collapse of the gold. Trade-24 staff report gold will
crush till $1270 in the next weeks on technical reasons. The main reason is that gold has
broken through its long term range sized around $250. When a range is broken, usually, the
afterward move is expected to be the size of the range.
