-Integrated ThreadArch® four-threaded processor with on chip memory for achieving high-throughputs at a low-host overhead
SAN JOSE, Calif., April 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Redpine Signals, Inc., a leading developer of ultra low power and high-performance multi-standard wireless chipsets and systems, today announced the release of the industry's first simultaneous dual-band 5GHz MIMO 802.11ac + 2.4GHz BT4.0, 802.11n chipset. The new SoC is based on Redpine's Quali-Fi 802.11ac technology. It offers PHY data throughputs up to 1.3Gbps and an advanced 802.11ac feature set encompassing Multi-User MIMO and LDPC.
Redpine's RS9333 chipset uniquely offers reconfigurable single-chip simultaneous dual-band capability wherein the chipset can be configured on-the-fly through software as either a 3x3 802.11ac solution in 5GHz or simultaneous 2x2 11ac in 5GHz and 1x1 802.11n in 2.4GHz. In addition, the RS9333 chipset supports BT4.0 in 2.4GHz which coexists optimally with the on-chip 802.11n/ac using innovative coexistence mechanisms.
Based on Redpine's in-house four-threaded processor ThreadArch®, the RS9333 achieves high-throughputs and real-time QoS on the concurrently operational 802.11ac, 802.11n and BT4.0 wireless links while still keeping a free hardware thread available for offload of Layer-3 and application-specific functions. The chipset provides PCI-e, USB and SDIO3.0 host-interfaces to enable integration into a multitude of systems ranging from smartphones and tablets to high-end enterprise routers.
"Cloud-based services and multimedia streaming are increasing the demand for wireless bandwidth and QoS. These demands are pushing next-generation Wi-Fi 802.11ac out of the crowded 2.4GHz spectrum and into the 5GHz band. Concurrent dual-band support enables 802.11ac to meet next-generation requirements while providing backward compatibility with legacy 2.4GHz networks," said Linley Gwennap, Principal Analyst of The Linley Group.
"Concurrent dual-band is synonymous with large costs and high-power today and is limited to high-end routers. This is mainly due to the usage of two separate baseband chips one each for 2.4 and 5GHz and the associated costs of a high-end network processor. With Quali-Fi RS9333 Redpine is spearheading the integration of concurrent dual-band into power, form-factor and cost-sensitive products like smartphones, tablets and ultra-books," said Venkat Mattela, CEO of Redpine Signals. "Based on 40nm CMOS technology and our innovative multi-threaded processor architecture ThreadArch®, RS9333 provides simultaneous MIMO 802.11ac, 802.11n and BT4.0 wireless links at even lower power and cost than today's 'switchable' dual-band solutions," he added.
Form-factor reference designs for RS9333 will be available to customers in Q3, 2012. These are accompanied by Redpine's field proven OneBox(TM) software framework which supports Station, AP and Wi-Fi Direct(TM) links.
Redpine will be presenting Quali-Fi(TM) RS9333 at the Linley Tech Conference on April 16th, 2012 in San Jose, CA.

Nimbus Flash Memory Systems Attain Citrix Ready Certification
Enabling the Most Scalable and Cost-effective Flash Memory Storage Infrastructure for Citrix XenDesktop and XenServer
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., April 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Nimbus Data Systems, Inc., the leader in Sustainable Storage®, today announced that all Nimbus flash memory systems, including the performance-leading S-Class and the ultra-scalable E-Class, are now Citrix Ready® certified. As the first high-availability and multiprotocol solid state systems to earn this designation, Nimbus S-Class and E-Class systems enable enterprise-wide virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) with unmatched performance, superior reliability, and dramatically lower power, rack space, and administration costs.
While research firm IDC expects over 45 million VDI desktops to be deployed by 2014, VDI adoption has been hampered by storage performance and cost challenges. According to The Evaluator Group, one of the leading research firms covering desktop virtualization, nearly 50% of organizations deploying VDI face significant storage cost and performance challenges.
"Delivering the necessary IOps for a successful VDI deployment using disk arrays would require a significant number of spindles, increasing acquisition and operating costs," stated Russ Fellows, Senior Partner at The Evaluator Group. "Nimbus all-flash storage systems deliver very high IO performance in a small footprint, improving scalability while significantly reducing operating costs. This translates into a lower storage cost per virtual desktop, an essential goal in maximizing ROI."
Nimbus' flash memory storage systems benefit users by:
-- Improving VDI economics and acceptance: According to third-party
performance tests, Nimbus flash memory systems provide up to 50x greater
IO performance than conventional 15K RPM disk arrays. High storage
performance enables greater VM density and cuts power, cooling, and rack
space costs by up to 80%, significantly reducing storage costs per VDI
instance. Users see these performance benefits firsthand as boot times
are reduced and applications load faster, and this more responsive user
experience increases VDI acceptance.
-- Supporting scalable enterprise-wide VDI: Nimbus' all-flash systems scale
to 500 TB, providing ample storage capacity for the largest VDI
deployments. With ultra-low latency, Nimbus offers a better alternative
to hybrid SSD/HDD or caching/tiering designs that can suffer from
unpredictable performance. Nimbus flash memory systems also outpace PCIe
flash cards by providing better throughput, more capacity, centralized
management, and online serviceability.
-- Simplifying VDI management: Nimbus systems are easy-to-deploy and
administer. Support for Fibre Channel, NFS, and iSCSI gives users the
flexibility to select the best storage protocol and networking
technology for their existing infrastructure and staff skillset. With no
software license fees and a low acquisition cost, Nimbus systems are
affordable to organizations large and small.
"Reducing the storage cost and improving performance of VDI deployments are essential to the end-user experience and, ultimately, VDI adoption," stated Thomas Isakovich, CEO of Nimbus. "The Citrix Ready recognition is further validation of Nimbus' innovation, having delivered the most scalable, highest performance, and most fault-tolerant unified flash memory systems in the market today."

Atmel 2.4GHz Low-Power RF Transceiver Redefines Lowest Power Consumption for Industrial Applications
Offering 60 Percent Lower Power Consumption than Nearest Competitor, New 2.4GHz Atmel AT86RF233 Transceiver Expands into Battery-Operated Applications Including Utility Meters, Industrial Monitoring and Control Systems, and Energy-Harvesting Equipment
SAN JOSE, Calif., April 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Atmel® Corporation (Nasdaq: ATML), a leader in microcontroller and touch technology solutions, today announced a new RF transceiver for battery-operated wireless applications. The Atmel AT86RF233 transceiver is optimized for industrial and consumer products that comply with ZigBee/IEEE 802.15.4, IPv6 over low-power wireless personal area networks (6LoWPAN) and high data rate 2.4GHz industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) band applications.
The AT86RF233 transceiver offers 60 percent lower power consumption than its closest competitors. At the same time, the transceiver improves the superior RF performance for which Atmel's RF products are widely renowned, making it an ideal solution for products such as gas and water meters, monitoring and control systems, and energy-harvesting equipment.
Since target applications in these segments call for years of battery life without maintenance, a low-power, high-performance transceiver such as the AT86RF233 fits the bill. The AT86RF233 provides transceiver current consumption of 14mA, receiver current consumption of 6mA and sleep current consumption of 0.02uA. For a complete solution, design engineers can use a low-power, high-performance Atmel AVR® or an Atmel ARM® processor-based microcontroller (MCU)--two of the world's most popular MCU architectures--as a companion chip. Together, the AT86RF233 transceiver and an AVR XMEGA® MCU can deliver a low-power, cost-optimized solution to meet the operational requirements of applications that spend most of their time in low-power sleep mode and need fast wake-up times and short, active cycles.
As a highly integrated solution, the AT86RF233 requires minimal external components. Design engineers can, therefore, lower their bill of material (BOM) costs and also reduce system board space. With support for antenna diversity, the AT86RF233 enhances RF performance and link reliability. Onboard Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) ensures secure wireless end-to-end communication.
"With the 802.15.4-compliant market growing quickly towards half a billion units*, we're pleased to deliver a RF transceiver that meets a variety of industry standards while addressing our customers' requirements for increasingly lower power consumption," said Magnus Pedersen, product marketing director for microcontroller wireless solutions at Atmel. "The AT86RF233 transceiver will enable our customers to create feature-rich wireless products that provide the long battery life that their customers demand."
"Wireless applications continue to integrate more functions while demanding longer battery life and better scalability. By using Atmel's unique picoPower low-power technology, the latest AVR XMEGA devices have 20x lower sleep current than existing solutions in the market with similar memory and integration levels. AVR XMEGA devices and the AT86RF233 transceiver are the perfect companions for low-power wireless applications," said Ingar Fredriksen, senior director, MCU marketing at Atmel.
Design Environment
Supported by kits, tools and communication stacks, the AT86RF233 transceiver can be integrated into any design with efficiency. Designers who pair the transceiver with an AVR XMEGA MCU can further optimize their design environment with Atmel Studio 6, the newest integrated development environment. Supporting both AVR MCUs as well as Atmel ARM Cortex(TM)-M processor-based devices, Atmel Studio 6 comes with 1,000 project examples with source code that eliminate most of the low-level coding in a design.
Availability
The AT86RF233 transceiver is available with the REB233SMAD-EK evaluation kit, which includes two AT86RF233 radio evaluation boards paired with the AVR XMEGA ATxmega256A3 MCU. Atmel also provides, free of charge, a variety of network software and programming examples, including the BitCloud® ZigBee PRO and the BitCloud Public Profile Suite.

LONDON and SAN FRANCISCO, April 16, 2012/PRNewswire/ --
Facebook's average Cost per Thousand impressions (CPM) has increased by 41% since Q1
in 2011 according to the latest Global Facebook Advertising Report compiled by TBG Digital
(TBG) and verified by the University of Cambridge. This is the latest report examining the
trends and changes in the performance of Facebook campaigns managed by TBG Digital.
The study, which was based on 372 billion impressions in more than 190 countries for
235 clients from Q1 2011 to Q1 2012, demonstrates that Facebook is earning more from
Marketplace ads. Specifically, average CPM has increased by 15% in the last quarter with
the US seeing an increase of 11% and the UK seeing an increase of 13% during the same
period.
TBG also sees a massive increase in Click Through Rates (CTR) for News Clients. With
the huge success of Facebook social readers from the likes of Yahoo! News, The Washington
Post and The Guardian, the Company has identified a strong uplift in CTR for those in the
News sector since Q4 2011 with an increase of 196%. The category now joins entertainment,
beauty & fitness, house & garden, and health at the top of the league with finance
remaining at the bottom of the table. Further, this jump in position demonstrates that
Twitter no longer dominates as the sole social network for news.
Additional findings from the report include the following:
- Facebook Cost per Click (CPC) has increased by 23% in the top five
territories versus Q4 2011 indicating that while growth in new users may be slowing*,
the social network is becoming more attractive to advertisers
- The US experienced a reduction in average CTR of 8% in this quarter with the
top five territories seeing an average decrease of 6% which could be attributed to an
increase in the number of ads being placed on users' pages. CTR is generally a measure
of how engaging users find the ad, affected by the quality of the creative and how
appropriate the ad's targeting.
- Seasonal deviations can contribute to CTR increases and decreases in certain
vertical sectors. For example, Fitness is always a focus in a New Year where as Retail
drops after its heights in the holiday season.
- The Retail sector has taken the lead on number of impressions served
increasing its share by 10 percentage points to make up 23% of all impressions in Q1
- The Finance sector leads with the most expensive advertising costs, with 3.5
times higher CPCs than the Food & Drink sector which has the lowest ad costs
- Top 5 sectors continue to dominate comprising 78% of impressions served of the
18 sectors measured
Cost Per Fan Costs Increase by 43% Over All Territories
On average, Cost per Fan increased 43% in Q1 2012, compared to Q4 2011. The UK saw the
greatest jump with 77% followed by the US with 37%. Increased competition and advertising
costs means brands will need to work harder in their recruitment of fans with a focus on
'earned media'.
Fanning Continues to Drive CPC Savings Particularly in the Food & Drink Sector
In Q1 Facebook continued to incentivize advertisers to say within the Facebook
environment by offering reduced CPCs of up to 45%.Consequently the Finance Sector which
sends
91% of its traffic out of the Facebook environment to sign up for their services
(compared to the average of 38%.) saw the most expensive advertising costs. Alternatively
the Food & Drink sector, which uses Facebook as a branding tool, only sent 4% of its
traffic offsite in Q1 and thus saw the lowest advertising fees.
Simon Mansell, CEO of TBG Digital, commented: "The recent Facebook Advertising Report
unearthed some compelling trends as it relates to how brands are using the site to engage
customers. One amazing finding is that Facebook has seen an increase in pricing at the
same time when it has also grown the number of ads per page, sometimes up to seven, which
you would naturally expect to actually deflate prices. Additionally, the rapid increase in
CTR for news clients is promising for Facebook as it demonstrates that the platform works
well for sharing news as well as gaming and photos, an offering which other social
networks, such as Twitter have dominated to date."

CEVA Introduces CEVA-TeakLite-4 -- The Most Powerful, Low Power 32-bit DSP Architecture Framework for Advanced Audio and Voice Applications
Fourth generation TeakLite® DSP architecture offered in a series of four DSP cores, differing in performance, die size and system interfaces; Incorporates smart power management technology and support for customer-owned extensions
SAN JOSE, Calif., April 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Linley Tech Mobile Conference - CEVA, Inc. (NASDAQ: CEVA) the leading licensor of silicon intellectual property (SIP) platform solutions and DSP cores, today introduced the CEVA-TeakLite-4, the industry's most powerful, low power and scalable 32-bit DSP architecture framework for advanced audio and voice applications. The CEVA-TeakLite-4 was specifically designed to address the increasingly complex requirements of voice pre-processing and audio post-processing algorithms as well as multi-channel audio codecs, for smartphones, mobile computing and digital home devices.
Built on the proven foundation of the widely-used CEVA-TeakLite family, the CEVA-TeakLite-4 introduces innovative smart power management technology and supports customer-owned extensions, making it a highly flexible architecture and ideal for even the most area and power sensitive designs. Illustrating this, the CEVA-TeakLite-4 consumes up to 25% less die area and requires up to 30% less power than the previous generation CEVA-TeakLite-III DSP for decoding MP3 with Dolby Mobile 3+ post-processing.
Audio and Voice Complexity Grows
The 32-bit CEVA-TeakLite-4 DSP architecture directly addresses the significant challenges faced by the semiconductor industry in enabling high-quality audio and voice performance in all types of devices. To deliver better voice intelligibility in noisy environments for example, advanced pre-processing technologies reduce the background noise and improve voice clarity, requiring support for computational-intensive algorithms. Likewise, the transition to wideband voice codecs for voice-over-LTE (VoLTE) and voice-over-IP (VoIP) applications requires significantly more DSP horsepower than traditional narrowband voice codecs used today. And in mobile and home entertainment devices, audio post-processing creates a vastly-improved consumer experience, delivering virtual surround sound, speaker correction, bass expansion effects, and more. The processing required to deliver this level of performance is significantly more complex than what can be efficiently achieved with 16-bit and 24-bit DSPs utilized today, bringing 32-bit audio processing to the forefront.
Eran Briman, vice president of marketing at CEVA stated: "In architecting the CEVA-TeakLite-4, we built upon the vast knowledge and experience gained in the last five years from our first generation 32-bit audio processors to significantly improve the performance and power efficiency of our new architecture. As a result, the CEVA-TeakLite-4 architecture can address the specific requirements of any advanced audio and voice enabled SoC through a choice of scalable and flexible DSPs, which share a common instruction set architecture, software ecosystem and tool set. Furthermore, the integration of our second generation smart power management technology, PSU 2.0, enables the CEVA-TeakLite-4 architecture to deliver the lowest power consumption package possible, for each specific application."
The CEVA-TeakLite-4 architecture is initially available as a series of four compatible DSP cores, offering designers a range of application-specific cost/performance alternatives to meet their application requirements. The CEVA-TL410 and CEVA-TL411 DSPs offer single and dual 32x32 bit multipliers, respectively, targeting voice and audio CODECS and hubs, while the CEVA-TL420 and CEVA-TL421 DSPs offer additional fully cached memory subsystems and AXI system interfaces, targeting Application Processors and home audio SoCs. Courtesy of a variable 10 stage pipeline, the CEVA-TeakLite-4 architecture scales from an area-optimized implementation of less than 100K gates and ultra-low power consumption, up to a 1.5GHz implementation at 28nm for high-end SoCs. All CEVA-TeakLite-4 DSPs leverage CEVA's second generation Power Scaling Unit (PSU 2.0) which dynamically supports clock and voltage scaling with finer granularity within the processor, memories, buses and system resources.
Linley Gwennap, principal analyst of The Linley Group stated: "To stay competitive, OEMs must constantly improve the user experience for voice and audio in handset, consumer and automotive applications. From tomorrow's smartphones to Smart TVs and in-car entertainment, every multimedia-enabled device is expected to deliver noise-free voice in any environment along with high-quality audio features. The CEVA-TeakLite-4 addresses all of these diverse applications using a single architecture that is power efficient and yet capable of leading-edge audio and voice processing. For example, the architecture supports between one to four 32-bit and 16-bit MACs with up to 128-bit data memory bandwidth, more than any competing audio solution today, offering customers a wide choice of alternatives for their specific needs."
Following on from industry-proven CEVA-TeakLite-III DSP, The CEVA-TeakLite-4 is the second generation 32-bit DSP architecture from CEVA, and the fourth generation DSP overall that shares the foundations of the CEVA-TeakLite DSP architecture. The CEVA-TeakLite is the most successful licensable DSP family in the history of the semiconductor industry, with more than 2 billion chips shipped, over 100 licensees, 25 active ecosystem partners and close to 100 audio and voice codecs available. The CEVA-TeakLite-4 is fully compatible with every previous generation of the CEVA-TeakLite, ensuring that the full portfolio of voice and audio codecs optimized for the CEVA-TeakLite architecture runs on the CEVA-TeakLite-4 with improved efficiency. By taking advantage of a unified development infrastructure composed of code-compatible cores, a set of optimized software libraries and a single tool chain, customers can significantly reduce software development costs while leveraging their software investment in future products.
Streamlined Software Development
The CEVA-TeakLite-4 DSPs are supported by CEVA-Toolbox(TM), a complete software development environment, enabling the entire architecture to be programmed in C-level. An integrated simulator provides accurate and efficient verification of the entire system including the memory sub-systems. In addition, CEVA-Toolbox includes libraries, a graphical debugger, and a complete optimization tool chain named CEVA Application Optimizer. The Application Optimizer enables automatic and manual optimization applied in the C source code.
Availability
The first members of the CEVA-TeakLite-4 DSP family will be generally available for licensing in Q2 and Q3 of this year. For more information, contact sales@ceva-dsp.com.

Trimble Takes Ultra Rugged to the Next Level with New GNSS Smart Antenna for Heavy Civil Construction
Trimble's New Rugged GNSS Receiver is Connected Site Ready and Easy-to-Use
PARIS, April 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Trimble (NASDAQ:TRMB) today introduced the new ultra-rugged Trimble® SPS985 GNSS Smart Antenna for performing high accuracy construction site measurements. The new smart antenna is made of a specially developed alloy that combines unprecedented strength and durability into a compact form to withstand the daily abuse of construction work. With its enhanced internal shock isolation, the SPS985 is well suited for high-vibration use on an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) or supervisor truck. User-friendly features such as a quick release connector and smartphone configuration make it easy to deploy and use as a base station or rover, mounted on a range pole or truck roof. Advanced communications including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and optional wideband radio integrate the receiver into the connected construction site.
The announcement was made at Intermat 2012, the international exhibition of equipment, machinery and techniques for the construction and materials industries.
A New Level of Rugged
As an industry-leader in GNSS grade control systems that withstand machine vibration and harsh construction conditions, Trimble continues to push the envelope of rugged and functional housing design. Leveraging Trimble engineering innovation and extensive field-testing for machine control, the new SPS985 applies the same toughness and usability standards for an off-machine GNSS receiver.
"The Trimble SPS985 was engineered to be the toughest, smallest and easiest to use GNSS receiver we've ever built," said Chuck Maniscalco, director of engineering for Trimble. "We listened to customer feedback and built the housing 50 percent stronger than any previous Trimble antenna, because we wanted it to perform ideally under extreme conditions--such as being dropped, tossed in a truck bed, rained on and otherwise abused in the construction setting. Contractors will likely never treat their SPS985 antennas as harshly as the Trimble engineering team has, but we intended to take rugged GNSS to the next level and we certainly achieved that."
Flexible and Easy-to-Use as a Rover or Base
When used as a rover, the SPS985 allows for maximum flexibility for use on a wide variety of site measurement tasks. For initial site reconnaissance, it can be deployed with satellite-delivered GNSS corrections without a base station. For higher accuracy site measurements, it can receive Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) corrections via the internal wideband radio, Wi-Fi or the Internet.
An SPS985 unit can be easily moved from carrying case to range pole, tripod, t-bar, or vehicle with a single click- making it faster to begin working and allowing for more flexibility of operation techniques. For example, a grade checker can mount the SPS985 to an ATV and easily conduct site topos, check as-builts and verify road centerlines where it is not easy or safe to walk with a range pole. Extending its productivity, the same unit can then be mounted on the roof of a supervisor's truck roof to collect and manage progress data.
As a base station, the SPS985 incorporates Wi-Fi communications for small site projects and optional wideband radio for long-range operations on large projects. Designed for ease of use, it will automatically establish a radio or Wi-Fi connection and transmit RTK corrections to another rover or machine control system. Construction crews can spend more time doing the work and less time setting up and maintaining the equipment.
Integrated Communications Capability to Increase Productivity
As a component of the Trimble Connected Site® solutions portfolio, the SPS985 also offers connectivity features that save administrative time and increase working productivity. When used with a Connected Controller such as the Trimble TSC3 or Trimble Tablet, job crews can connect to a mobile hotspot in the site trailer or supervisor's truck and receive GNSS corrections via VRS(TM) network or Trimble Internet Base Station (IBSS). They can also save considerable time by wirelessly synchronizing progress data and as-built information to the job supervisor or head office and receiving updated design information back without ever leaving the job site.
Quick start technology and the ability to setup and configure the receiver using a smartphone increases flexibility and eliminates the need to use a more expensive controller for daily setup. The Trimble Web UI is optimized for small screen devices, allowing a GNSS manager to monitor base station performance, availability and configuration without visiting the job site to set up each day.

Connect the Construction Site with Trimble to Increase Efficiency and Reduce Cost
Three New Solutions from Trimble Heavy Civil Construction Benefit the Bottom Line
PARIS, April 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Trimble (NASDAQ:TRMB) today introduced three new solutions for heavy civil construction professionals, the Trimble® Connected Office, the Trimble Connected Controller and the Trimble Connected Machine.
When used together to create the Trimble Connected Site® solution, time and cost can be saved at every stage, virtually eliminating steps in the plan, design, construct and operate process. Trimble's Connected Site can improve the efficiency of construction projects, resulting in the earlier completion of higher quality projects at a lower cost.
"The Trimble Connected Site uses construction technology to improve efficiency and productivity, while minimizing waste and expense," said Roz Buick, vice president and general manager for Trimble's Civil Construction Division. "Trimble solutions empower contractors with site-wide information integration, and transform the way a contractor gets the job done."
The announcement was made at Intermat 2012, the international exhibition of equipment, machinery and techniques for the construction and materials industries.
The Connected Office
The Trimble Connected Office solution uses software and hosted services to create 3D construction models, perform data preparation and takeoff, wirelessly sync data, monitor site productivity, and manage fleets and assets. The 3D design model created in the office can be sent wirelessly to the field, increasing efficiency, reducing rework and saving money. Additionally, a complete view of site productivity, including materials quantity and movement, volume and compaction data, and fleet and asset management information, can be shared across the organization to enable rapid decision-making and better communication.
The Connected Controller
The Trimble Connected Controller solution wirelessly syncs a Trimble Site Positioning System in the field with the office and allows the Trimble Controller to receive GNSS corrections via the Internet. A grade checker can receive the design model, create new measurements and then send the measurement and stakeout results back to the office for review. Design changes originating in the office can also be sent to the controller so field crews are rapidly updated with current information. All of this is accomplished without personnel ever leaving the site or their desk, increasing productivity and reducing costs.
The Connected Machine
The Trimble Connected Machine solution uses hardware included in all Trimble Grade Control Systems to help contractors connect their assets and see what machines are doing. Machines can collect as-built measurement data for office delivery, and receive GNSS corrections using the Internet. A 3D design created in the office can be sent to the machine operator for faster, more precise grading and earthmoving. Additionally, the machine can be used for volume measurements, so expensive measurements by grade checkers occur less frequently. Drive time and rework are also minimized, as both the office and machines in the field are kept up-to-date with the latest information.

PSS Sees Contact Center Demand Up A Record 700% In Q1
DUBLIN, Calif., April 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- With Contact Center's renewed focus on the customer experience, PSS are being asked to integrate multimedia, extend the life of existing platforms, utilise their rapid application development process and implement the latest solutions from Genesys, all of which has led to an incredible Q1 performance.
PSS (Product Support Solutions) started Q1 2012 as they did 2011 with a record quarter. The Contact Center market seems to be on the rebound as companies refocus on The Customer Experience and customer retention - keeping customers happy and engaged in the very competitive environment. Part of the reason for this resurgence is the ready availability of new products and services that keep customers engaged with a brand, such as Contact Center integration to Social Media, outbound notification, chat and any-device anywhere interaction solutions. "We expect the Contact Center to continue playing a pivotal role with overall customer experience and loyalty to a brand," Todd Funk, CEO explained. "Our capabilities, products and partnerships are well aligned with their needs, our recent record sales indicate."
The company celebrates its 10th anniversary this year has featured times as the leading IVR solution provider in the Inc. 500 list of the fastest growing US companies. Bookings for Q1 2012 were up a staggering 700% compared to Q1 2011, bookings for Q4 2011 were up 200% v Q4 2010.
Key to the company's success is a focus on products, tools and capabilities that help enterprises de-risk the transition to latest Contact Center technologies and innovations, eliminating the need for a total up front replacement strategy. One such tool is a Rapid Development Process calledapp centre(TM) - used for converting legacy proprietary IVR applications to open standards based Java and voiceXML. Enterprises often hold back application development and conversion in the contact center due to time and cost. Application Centre(TM)reduces the development time by an average of 40%, leaving "no stone unturned" in converting legacy IVR applications as it uncovers all portions of the existing application, greatly reducing delays and unbudgeted change requests. This ensures the new solution provides maximum ROI and lowest total cost of ownership. PSS works with all of the latest IVR solution providers such as Genesys GVP 8.
Additionally, an increased focus on the company's comprehensive Interactive Voice Response (IVR) skills has fuelled growth. PSS IVR support sustains, extends and enhances the life of legacy IVR solutions especially solutions sold by Nortel and Intervoice. The company has always been known for expertise in optimizing and supporting both the IVR platform and applications until the time comes to move to a new solution.
Another reason for PSS recent success is the renewed focus on their Genesys partnership. Keith Ward, CTO adds, "Our heritage is IVR, but our own acquisitions have focused on bringing the entire Contact Center practice and capabilities on board. Today, we are EXPERTS in not only GVP, but: SIP, CIM, Routing, WFM, Virtual Hold, eServices, iWD, Reporting and Analytics and all the Genesys 8 Product Suite offers. We are in fact one of the first companies to implement Genesys Orchestration Server for a major service provider in AsiaPac."
PSS has also become further focussed on increasing business internationally. The company has delivered superior contact center solutions to Global-1000 for years. Our sales increased in each of the last 3 quarters in the UK and AsiaPac. In Q1 we started a major focus on EMEA.
"While our increased focus has certainly helped us deliver these exciting numbers, it's our fantastic employees, partners and customers we have the privilege of working that are the real key to our success - Thanks to them all," concludes Funk.
PSS (Product Support Solutions) is a specialized contact center systems integrator helping to provide world class customer service across all customer touch points - affordably and effectively. PSS has a global presence and is trusted to provide solutions across five continents and 19 countries.

TowerJazz and NeoFidelity Announce Strategic Relationship to Supply Digital Audio Amplifiers to Samsung and LG
MIGDAL HAEMEK, Israel and SEOUL, Korea, April 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- TowerJazz, the global specialty foundry leader, and NeoFidelity Inc., announce mass production of a full digital audio amplifier for LCD slim TVs supplying Korean companies Samsung and LG which dominate the worldwide market. NeoFidelity successfully began production in November 2011 and demand is steadily increasing. By shifting its production from a 0.16-micron process to TowerJazz's 0.13-micron technology, NeoFidelity was able to realize an advantage in cost competitiveness. In addition, NeoFidelity is able to leverage TowerJazz's powerful set of design kits, accurate models and comprehensive analog IP portfolio.
The new digital audio amplifier reduces heat and improves efficiency and sound quality, which was a challenge for previous analog audio amps (AB-class, D-class). Another advantage of the digital audio amp is better performance as it can process digital signal without converting into analog signal. In the case of analog amp chips, it requires devices to change the digital signal to an analog signal. In addition, due its very small chip size, NeoFidelity's full digital audio amp can be used in slimmer and smaller sized applications.
"We are excited about producing digital audio amps for Samsung and LG on TowerJazz's 0.13-micron technology CMOS platform. We have been very pleased with the dedicated support of TowerJazz, especially from their local Korean office," said Lee Ducksoo, NeoFidelity's Chief Executive Officer. "NeoFidelity shifted to TowerJazz to enhance the competitiveness of our full digital audio amplifier. As we expand our market to overseas and diversify our products' roadmap, we look forward to continue working with TowerJazz."
"NeoFidelity has been focused on high end audio amps for a good decade and is the true expert with a unique solution. We are very excited to be chosen as their strategic partner not only for the audio amp market, but also for many other devices that will increase our technology offerings and capabilities as well as expand our market share in various applications," said Michael Song, Korea Country Manager, TowerJazz.
NeoFidelity has achieved design wins for its TV amplifier product in the China market as well as with Samsung and LG and is expecting to begin supply to several giant TV customers and audio product manufacturers in China.
About NeoFidelity
NeoFidelity Inc. (KOSDAQ:101400), semiconductor acoustic solution leader, was founded in April, 2000 by Ph.D.s from Seoul National University, who are audio & signal processing experts. ESCORT Presents Award Winning ESCORT Live(TM) and New MobileTV(TM) Digital Receiver at Las Vegas 2012 NAB Show
ESCORT Inc., the industry leader of radar detection technology, is featuring its new ESCORT MobileTV(TM) connected Mobile Digital TV receiver at the 2012 NAB Show this week in Las Vegas alongside its multi-award winning ESCORT Live(TM) real-time ticket protection network.
LAS VEGAS, April 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- NAB Show -- ESCORT Inc. (ESCORTinc.com), designer and manufacturer of the world's best premium automotive accessories, is presenting two of its new products at the 2012 NAB Show this week in Las Vegas - the multi-award winning ESCORT Live(TM) real-time ticket protection network and ESCORT's first ever connected Mobile Digital TV receiver, ESCORT MobileTV(TM). "As new media platforms evolve, such as the iPad and smartphone technologies, we continue to develop new products that support consumers' ever-increasing demands for more mobile options. Our new ESCORT MobileTV(TM) helps consumers watch TV while on the go," said John Larson, ESCORT President and CEO. "MobileTV(TM) allows viewers to watch their favorite programs anytime and anywhere they choose."
ESCORT's new MobileTV(TM) product utilizes advanced digital technology developed by internationally acclaimed Siano and will be on display in the Siano NAB show booth (LVCC, North Hall, Booth N4537). ESCORT's MobileTV(TM) is a connected Mobile Digital TV (MDTV) receiver that quickly and easily allows consumers to receive digital TV on their WIFI-enabled smartphone, iPad or similar video-capable device while in moving vehicles. This ability to receive TV signals out of the air while traveling in rapidly moving vehicles is what makes ESCORT's MobileTV(TM) truly unique in the marketplace. Another major benefit of ESCORT MobileTV(TM) is that it does not use the device's data link for connectivity but instead receives MDTV through WIFI - this helps reduce overall usage of the consumer's data plan. Viewers won't miss anything while traveling with others as they choose from news, weather, sports, traffic, entertainment and more in over 46 major metro markets (and expanding).
In addition to being on the NAB show floor, ESCORT will be featuring its multi-award winning ESCORT Live(TM) 'social network for the road' at this week's major NAB press event, Showstoppers @ NAB 2012. ESCORT invites NAB press attendees to experience a personal demonstration of ESCORT Live(TM)'s real-time threat and information sharing at the Showstoppers @ NAB 2012 press event, Monday, April 16, 6:00p.m. - 7:30 p.m., in the Las Vegas Convention Center, S231.
"It's widely known that ESCORT provides the most advanced radar and laser defense on the market," said Larson. "We've raised that bar with Escort Live(TM) and continue to redefine 'driving smarter' with new technologies like Mobile TV(TM)."
ESCORT has seen its highly successful multi-award winning ESCORT Live(TM) ticket protection network continue to receive national accolades and awards. In addition to being included in Edmunds 'Top Ten New Products' list, ESCORT Live(TM) has also been named a CES 2012 Innovations Design and Engineering Award winner as well as 'Best New Mobile Product' at SEMA.
ESCORT Live(TM) uses Bluetooth technology embedded in SmartCord Live(TM) cords and a unique app for the driver's smartphone. When alerts are detected, they are transmitted to the ESCORT Live(TM) "cloud" and then broadcast across the ESCORT Live(TM) network, notifying drivers of potential ticket threats. In addition to network alerts, the new smartphone app technology provides ESCORT's industry-leading Defender® database of red light and speed-ticketing camera locations and speed traps as well as ESCORT's patented GPS features including posted speed limit information, over-speed limit alerts, live traffic for route optimization and more.
Unique to the radar detector ticket protection category is the ESCORT Live(TM) community's real-time national reach and scale. Currently there are more than 1 million ESCORT and BELTRONICS ESCORT Live(TM) compatible radar detectors in use throughout North America.
