TORONTO, Jan. 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ - ViXS Systems, Inc. and Morega Systems, Inc. today announced a strategic partnership to enable, for the first
time, the seamless access and streaming of premium, personal, and
user-generated content to and from multiple devices within the home. Morega's proprietary content portability technologies will be integrated with ViXS XCode(®) media processors and embedded into consumer electronics (CE) products,
set-top boxes (STBs), network attached storage (NAS) devices, and
multimedia gateways.
The integrated solution will give rise to a new class of CE devices that
allow individuals to watch their video content across multiple screens,
with the ability to stream, protect, convert, and operate across
different media standards seamlessly.

(DVRs), and NAS devices. Using a Web browser or a mobile app, consumers
can view and access all of their personal, user-generated, and premium
content on their preferred devices of choice.

At next week's 2012 International CES, the world's largest consumer electronics tradeshow, attendees can visit Xilinx in suite #MP25556 in the Las Vegas Convention Center to see a demonstration of these development resources that consists of 4K2K Mosaic and HDTV-to-4K2K up-converter targeted reference designs and the new ACDC (Acquisition, Contribution, Distribution and Consumption) 1.0 Baseboard using Kintex-7 FPGAs, all jointly developed with Premier Xilinx Alliance Program member Tokyo Electron Device Ltd. (TED).

Kintex-7 FPGA System Integration for Display
The ACDC 1.0 Base Board forms the heart of Xilinx's systemintegration tools for developing consumer displays. Designers who are already working with 1080i or 1080P technologies can quickly migrate to 4K2K by using the Mosaic reference design and HDTV-to-4K2K up-converter included as part of the platform. The HDTV-to-4K2K up-converter also solves the content dilemma by providing a necessary tool to be able to use any standard 1080i (HD) or 1080P (Full HD) content on a rich immersive 4K2K display. The base board and optional FPGA Mezzanine Cards (FMC) can also support:

SEP Raises GBP200 Million for New Growth Equity and Venture Fund

Scottish Equity Partners Kicks Off New Year With Fundraising Success
Scottish Equity Partners (SEP) today announced the successful close of its new growth
equity and venture capital fund, SEP IV, confirming that it had reached its GBP200 million
target by the end of 2011.
The fund, which ranks as one of the largest raised in Europe over the last year,
attracted very strong support, defying the generally difficult climate for private equity
fundraisings. SEP's existing investors accounted for 80% of the total raised.
Approximately half of the fund was accounted for by UK-based investors, with the remaining
50% coming from investors based in Europe and the United States.
Investors in SEP IV include pension funds, which account for almost 60% of the total
raised, fund-of-fund investors, family offices and corporates. The fund is 30% bigger than
SEP's previous fund. SEP will use the capital it has raised to provide growth equity and
venture funding to high growth UK technology and technology-related companies.
SEP Managing Partner Calum Paterson said: "We are grateful for the continued support

partners, particularly in the current economic climate. The fundraising reflects well on

Biovex to US pharmaceutical giant Amgen in a $1 billion deal, and a return of 12 times its
investment in Zeus Technology which was acquired by Riverbed Technology in a $140m deal.
SEP's current portfolio companies, which are predominantly based in the UK, employ
more than 2,000 people in aggregate and include some of the UK's fastest-growing
technology businesses.
The investment range for SEP IV is between GBP5 million and GBP20 million for growth
capital and between GBP2 million and GBP10 million for venture capital opportunities and
the geographic focus is the UK.
