Toshiba Launches High-Quality Dual-Picture Video Processor For High-Resolution Automotive Display Panels

In-vehicle driver support information displays are growing in use, prompting demand for larger panels with higher resolution. Toshiba's new TC90195XBG video processor supports high-resolution widescreen (1920x720 pixels) panels, improving on the support for wide VGA (800x480) provided by the company's existing product(1). In addition, the TC90195XBG can also simultaneously output two digital video signals to two panels, instead of just one.
"According to IHS Automotive, the annual market for vehicle display systems is expected to reach nearly $19 billion by 2021(2)," said Deepak Mithani, senior director, Mixed Signal Business Unit, System LSI Group at TAEC. The new video processor features two-picture composition mode and picture-separation mode with internal frame memory. The input stage complies with LVDS(3) (OpenLDI), LVTTL(4) and analog video signal, and a single image is composed from these signals and transmitted to the primary display. The device can separate the signals and output them independently to two panels, with resolutions of 1280x720 (LVDS output) and 800x480 (LVTTL output).
The TC90195XBG's built-in three-channel picture-improver circuit boosts low-resolution images for display on high-resolution panels. It features dynamic YC gamma, color management, and HVD enhancement. The processor includes a 10-bit AD converter, multi-color decoder to accommodate all major video formats (NTSC, PAL, SECAM), and power-supply voltage of 1.2V / 3.3V.

Version 4.2 Linux PHP Support Adds to Windows PHP Offering to Quickly Enable Barcode Recognition in Web Applications
VANCOUVER, April 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Dynamsoft's Barcode Reader software development kit (SDK) now includes support for the Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP) language on Linux platforms so developers can easily enable barcode reading from images, scanned documents and webcam captures in a PHP application on Linux. This includes support of web applications in ASP.NET, in C# or VB.NET, and PHP on Windows or Linux.
The new PHP barcode reader toolkit for Linux supports PHP x64 version 5.3 to 5.6. Both Thread Safe (TS) and Non Thread Safe (NTS) options are provided. The Dynamsoft toolkit works with Linux Debian, Ubuntu, and CentOS operating systems.
The updated Barcode Reader 4.2 SDK has built-in support for a variety of the most common 1D and 2D barcode symbols. Dynamsoft continually updates the SDK to enhance features and capabilities. Over the past year, updates have added support for a variety of barcode symbology and support for reading barcodes from GIF, BMP, JPEG, PNG and TIFF images. The Barcode Reader SDK can be used as a standalone solution. This control loop provides the fast transient response required in demanding server applications while making implementation simple and easy. Improved gate driver technology has reduced dead times to 10ns, resulting in improved efficiency across the entire operating range.
The XR76116 and XR76120 extend the output current range of the PowerBlox(TM) line of Exar's high current POL regulators up to 20A. The patented COT control loop enables operation with ceramic output capacitors without degradation in transient performance and eliminates loop compensation components, making a simpler and more reliable design. Additional features targeted at server applications include a power good pin which maintains a low impedance when the chip is unpowered thereby avoiding false power good signals. Also, there is a second output voltage sense pin, ensuring any failure of the main feedback does not result on damaging voltages being applied to expensive low voltage digital circuitry.
